Should ReconstructMeQt be available on Steam?
ReconstructMeQt is an easy to use real-time 3d reconstruction system. Grab your Kinect sensor and move around freely – ReMe takes care of modelling your world.

We employ breakthrough technologies to capture 3D models in real-time with a Microsoft Kinect sensor. This gives you an instant feedback on the modelling progress while you move around.

Easy Handling
ReconstructMeQt’s usage concept is similar to that of an ordinary video camera – simply move around the object to be captured. However, instead of a video stream you get a complete 3d model. We support a growing selection of modern sensors such as Microsoft Kinect or Asus Xtion.

Across All Scales
Modelling with ReconstructMeQt scales from smaller objects such as human faces up to entire rooms. Check our gallery for plenty of showcases.

Measureable Dimensions
ReconstructMeQt performs the entire reconstruction in metric space. No need for freaky scaling attempts. The result can be exported to various CAD formats such as STL, OBJ, 3DS, and PLY.

To achieve realtime performance, ReconstructMeQt makes heavy use of OpenCL, which means you need at least a moderately up to date graphis card.

To buy it, it will cost 300 Dollars. To use it free, it can't generate textures. I can download it already.

I think this shows a lot of potential for independent game developers like myself who can't afford one of those arm thingys that studios like Turn10 use for scanning. I'm planning on grabbing a Kinect this week and trying it out. So yes, please bring it to Steam!

ReconstructMe is amazing, i've been following the developments for the last year and i cant wait to buy this on Steam ! Are you planning to add live texture-projections and UV creation while scanning ?

You have come up with something amazing. From what I see, you can use your pc cam as well? Can't wait for the finished product. I know that you will have more settings for the end results.

Why is this Windows only when it uses Qt? :( I'm pretty sure there have been open source Kinect libraries developed - I remember them, in fact!

Also do want, good show on supporting those standardised formats for 3D printing by the way.
