(Previously Blood and Honor )
The Napoleonic wars of the 19th century are arguably some of the most dramatic and extrodinary conflicts in human history. The aftermaths of these clashes between nations have left an intellectual footprint that was, and is, still felt centuries after the fighting ceased. The leap in development and organization of military logistics and technology in this time period are still used in many countries today, while historians still read of the exploits of the leaders of the time period in awe. The battles themselves were on a scale of their own. Hundreds of thousand of troops clashing over battlefields that were a few kilometers long, with unheard of casualties. Borodino, Waterloo, Austerlitz, and many more are studied by historians and military cadets alike.

This is the backdrop of Honor in Blood, a grand strategy game set in the unprecedented scale and brutality of the Napoleonic Wars

Honor in Blood would immerse players in an era of political strife and conflict never before seen in a strategy game.

Choice and consequence follow players every step of the way, for example, in co-op should you and your friend choose to break up your force and try to prevent/stall an enemy from linking up before the battle? or keep your precious units together and stand your ground as the onslaught begins?

Single Player:

In Season 1, follow the footsteps of Napoleon as he rises from Artillery officer to ruler of France. Every decision will impact how the men under you command will react to you. Going into battle before proper preperation can result in disastrous results, but this can go vice versa. The player could choose to surround an army and cut vital Supply lines and logistics, choking an enemy army into submission.

Every Season would reflect the decisions and life of a major leader in this era. The player would choose episodes to play, following the key events and battles that shaped these men into who they are recognized as today.

While not participating in a battle, you will be immersed in the life of a 19th century General.

While in the field explore your armies camp, watch your men practice drilling and other pasttimes, send couriers to keep in contact with your subordinate generals in other theatres and keep track of their location see if they are close enough to provide support. Send spies/scouting units to keep track of enemy positions but remember, this info is not always up to date, sending information back in forth takes time in the 19th century. Careful planning and guessing of enemy movements must be made in order to achieve success on the field

Ready to move your force from camp to the battle? going into your personal quarters, you look at the maps on your indicated desk. This is the options/campaign map. Switch between different stats about your armies, look at the last known location of enemy armies and freindly ones, look at the terrian and see where you want to engage the enemy and go!

But lets say your army is ambushed on your way, a scout comes riding to you in full gallop and he gets off his horse reporting that your lead element has been attacked. He unrolls parchment and lays it on the ground in front of you, this is your "Battle Map", like in RUSE or Wargame: European Escalation ( but not the exact same of course, just to get the image in your head).

Battles would take place in massive maps giving a player freedom of choice to tackle any situation. Maps also provide tactical choices, outnumbered by the superior ambushing force? Try using terrian to you advantage by setting up in deep forest or brush. Not the Guerrilla warfare type? Choose to set up defence on a hill top which provides a solid line of sight and a bonus on artillery range.

Line of sight also effects battle, as knowing where the enemy lies on these vast maps can mean the difference of victory or defeat. Certian Calvary types can act as the eyes and ears of your army. Hills and mountain sides offer bonuses to sight range with certian leader units.

Honor in Blood would also introduce the idea of comradeship, and wounded on the battlefield. As your men fight more battles together they gain comradeship. Watch, as more comradeship between your soldiers inspires them to fight on in desperate situations, often turning the tide in an otherwise lost battle.

As battles become more feirce, men will begin to fall, often wounded in the midst of a savage struggle. Using engineers, construct temporary aid stations that will despatch litters to ferry men back from the fighting. But beware, lacking the required medical supplies stored up (becouse of carelessness or the plights of being surrounded having supplies cut off) could cost you valuable manpower. But meeting the requirements set by your medical advisor can assist you in the long run, bringing wounded men back in their units (Giving your regiments a comrade bonus from seeing old faces, and a much welcomed experience boost.)

Other Possible choices could include:

Should your army be set up as more dependent on foraging so its more agile? or should it use supply wagons to bring a slow but reliable supply?

What should your men focus on? Being more accurate shots, making every volley count? Or should they rely more on the bayonet, making the enemy fear your men in close quarters?

Who should you put as a leader on a vassals throne? A family member who spends valuable resources on petty pleasures and extravagant items? Or a trusted military advisor who is hard on drink and knows nothing of politics?

Captured horses from an earlier battle are well won prize. But what to do with them? Deep in enemy territory, should you give them to the supply train which could offer more logistic opportunities? Or should you give them to your calvary commander, giving you troops fresh mounts which can help you in scouting the surrounding area?

Engineers attached to units offer flexibility to your army. Caught in a brutal stalmate across a river front? Use engineers to construct a pontoon bridge to offer flanking opportunities, but be careful! Pontoon bridges are limited in number and can be easily destroyed, or captured, by enemy forces.

Your choices and actions effect how history is written!

Choose wisely..
