Gameplay
Lurid will play like a point and click game while looking like an old NES game. As the game grows, increasingly difficult puzzles will be added and player/NPC dialogue will grow. Currently, the game plans to emphasize story and puzzle solving over any type of "battle" component. The enemy encounters aim to be similar to 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent' where avoidance is ciritcal. The player must outsmart enemies with the tools at his/her disposal.

Storyline
The storyline for Lurid will be heavily influenced by Hermetic philosophy and as the game furthers in development this will be made more obvious. Currently the game plans to fictionally document the historic fragmentation of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

@ooojamz93ooo: I'm using a 2D game engine called LOVE[love2d.org]. All the code is written in Lua script and complies to C++. It's the nicest game engine I've tried and I highly recommend it. The online documentation is fantastic!

Good job Steve, I like the concept. You may want to fix the infinite item spawns. I finished the demo with 4 keys and 3 first flames in my inventory. Other than that, good job.

@Hero: I'm using the LOVE 2D[love2d.org] game engine. I don't plan on making the game multiplayer. Although, I would like to eventually release the level editor; allowing players to create their own levels/story to share with others. Also, I like the idea of being able to sprint. Perhap require an item/potion for sprinting?
