Description
To download and play this map click the "subscribe" button and start the game. You can only play this map in open or local modes. Also, because it is a pvp map, it is best enjoyed with at least 1 other player. I suggest you ask a friend to join you or host a server with the map and wait around till another player joins. Thank you for checking out my level! Have tons o' fun!

Level in a nutshell:

Mo' PVP without minions! Y_ _ Y ROCK ON!

This map somewhat resembles gameplay of the King of the Hill mode from TF2. Players will want to flock towards the center of the map because they can earn mana per second while standing next to the Mana Tree. Because there are no minions in this map, standing next to the Mana Tree is the only way to earn more mana besides defeating your opponents. Also, Players can use this spot as a choke point to place towers to lock down large areas of the map. There are, however, more options available to players than just running to the center of the map. For instance, there is a jump pad like fan system that takes players up to a floating platform that surrounds the Mana Tree. This floating platform area is perfect for flanking your opponents. Regardless where players choose to go their goal remains the same: The first player to reach the score limit of 60 points wins and that requires each player to get at least 30 kills.

Fluff:

In the mountains below Sky City lies the Mana Marshlands. The Mana Marshlands is home to the rare flora the Mana Tree. The Mana Tree supplies an infinite amount of mana through the vapors it exudes from its core. Some of these vapors are adsorbed and stored by a machine built around the Mana Tree for use in Sky City. These vapors power the massive turbines, which keep Sky City aloft. Our heroes, however, use the Mana Marshlands for combat training.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Player's goal:

Reach the score limit of 60 points before any other player. (30 kills)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level Features:

~ Unique environment constructed from existing Dungeon Defenders assets

~ Multiple routes players can travel and verticality!

~ No minions to ruin your player versus player fun

~ Wicked sweet camera pan during the level start up

~ Awesome ambient sounds that make the environment come alive

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Included an image of the initial level prototype made in Microsoft Paint* <<< Humble and very different in the final product! O.o; Who would have thought spinning boats and hoes would be too annoying to put in a level!

Well I think the curvature of the land in reference to the middle and the zepplin pretty much clue you in to where you're at. I didn't have any issues conceptualizing where I was at.

Hmm.. I need it more as a landmark that covers a lot of the screen so it doesn't slow down performance Field of View wise. I had nothing but swampland in one build lol and that's just a bad idea. Landmarks are important lol.

Well you could do the trick of an image plane for the castle if it's far enough away.

Both pretty gewd ideas. Admittedly there should be an additional effect on the island to signify it, but I was hoping the super contasty yellowness of the tree's center would draw people to it. I should probably pick a different sound for the center as well, because it is cearly too subtle lol. I wish I was able to add a lot more detail to the environment, but it dropped the performance when I had more than what it has now. I tried adding a castle to the background instead of all mountain and that killed the fps!
