Better Vanilla NPCs

If you're like me, you like the vanilla game mostly just how it is. However I wasn't happy with the way all the Jarls looked ingame or how strong they were. To me a Jarl should be a strong leader or at least tough to some degree. This is a land of harsh environments, people here are supposed to be tough! I thought it was pretty sad when I found that most Jarls were set to a measly level 4 or capped at level 25/35, so I decided to do something about it.

The changes I made are:

1. Changed the appearance of ALL the Jarls, some more drastic than others.
2. Changed the level caps of ALL the Jarls to at least 60, combat Jarls have a level cap of 80.
3. Changed the rate at which the toughest combat Jarls level with the player, at x2 the rate.
4. Changed the weapons of certain Jarls to reflect their hometown/style/faction.
5. Created a custom class for the toughest Jarls, giving them a bit of extra health as well as stamina.

No DLC or other mods required for use.

If there's any issues please let me know, this is my fourth mod.

*Note: You may have to repeat the fix below each time I update the file, however no more updates are currently planned.

**Notice: If you're one of the people that has the Balgruuf's been rolling his face in some ashes (grey head effect), follow these instructions.

Go to Steam Library, go to tools, download Creation Kit (it's not a big download), open it, go to File > Data, select my mod from the list bettervanillajarls and set as active, hit ok, hit yes to all, go to Actors > Actor, in the list find BalgruuftheGreater, highlight BalgruuftheGreater by left-clicking it once (don't open, if you do no big deal just hit cancel), after ensuring you have BalgruuftheGreater highlighted press CTRL+F4, hit yes, after it's finished exporting go to File > Save, exit Creation Kit and enjoy.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

***Update: Went through all the Jarls, and gave appropiate weapons depending on the Jarl. Some were left alone as they were non-combat Jarls. Also changed the rate at which certain Jarls level with the player, as well as the level cap for combat oriented Jarls. Decided to leave armor/outfits alone as they are in their hold with their guards and only really get suited up for a great battle. Created custom classes for the toughest Jarls, this effectively gives them about 100 extra health at their max level cap of 80. When compared to the Jarls that have a level cap of 60 and are non-combat oriented this should make quite a difference; which can be about a 500 HP difference.

****Recommended Mods: "Final Younger Characters" from the Nexus site is NOT required, however it does improve the appearance of characters in general and I recommend using it as it does not make the game un~vanilla friendly. For example, it removes the square shadows on the tip of the nose on nords and the excessive wrinkles on everyone in general. (Recommended for Vanilla Body users)

*!!!* =>Known Conflicts & Compatibilities: This mod will conflict with any mod that changes the behavior, stats, or appearance of edited NPCs listed above. This mod should be compatible with texture mods as long as they don't edit the listed NPCs directly. Your results may vary with various mods that alter the general shape of facial features away from vanilla, like Calientes Female Body Mod CBBE for example. This mod was created with the vanilla body users in mind.

~This mod is part of an ongoing project of making a line of vanilla body friendly mods for the vanilla body users. Although my mods may work with other unique body mods, I specifically designed my mods to be used with the vanilla bodies. If you're interested in seeing my other works please check out my collection that this mod is a part of. These mods include changes to Housecarls, Spouses, Bards, Jarls and now the Jarl's personal Bodyguards.

Please read each mod's description before use.

That part's all fine now...I had an inevitable quest bug and so I have to make a new character...I was going to anyway... :) anyways nice mod

@avalanche22~ That is a bug with the game, not my mod as I don't edit or even touch the aggro behaviors of the Jarls. I was looking up your problem, and you aren't the first person this has happened to. As how to fix it... you could try looking up on wiki the console commands and use them to make everyone in the room passive to you, and then see if you can finish your quest or whatever business you have there. Or you can try reverting to a previous save where you didn't have the issue. This is why I keep at least 2 or 3 saves for one particular character. That's all I can really think of to help you. It's either that or I would just start a new game (wouldn't be the first time for me because of a bug), and just make sure you have multiple saves incase such an issue ever arrises again.

@ruthlesswill~ Well generally to the average person some of my efforts don't seem to do much. However, if you pay attention to details a lot more than the average person you'll notice the changes. I didn't do as much facial changes in this one as my others because I wanted the Jarls to remain mostly original, like when my housecarl mod first came out. I may revisit at a later date for more touchups after I examine the changes myself ingame or whatever if I feel like it needs, like how my housecarl one has changed over time. Generally the changes for this mod was small changes to the faces like facial hair, hair style, eyes, nose, eyebrows, facial color, etc. I know I've been wanting to change that dark elf lady's face of his to something more appealing for quite awhile lol.
