Description
This mod is not compatible with the Dragonborn DLC, and is no longer supported. A compatibility patch is available at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50844/?, with much thanks to NexusMods' evrymetul.

Note: A NexusMods version of this file can be found at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13930. For some reason, this version seems much buggier than the one at NexusMods, and I strongly encourage anyone comfortable with NexusMods to download that version instead.

Dragons Diversified
=======================
Dragons are certainly intimidating, and they have fancy music, but playing Skyrim will make one lose interest in them pretty quickly. Aside from some breathing fire and other breathing frost, they all behave the exact same way, and there isn’t much to that behavior. This plugin replaces the standard dragons with thirteen new dragon breeds, each heavily scripted to provide more interesting gameplay.

Includes:
Over a thousand lines of script!
Forty-nine new dragon textures!
Dragons stay on the ground a reasonable amount of time!
An actually satisfying Alduin fight!
Summons! Spell barrages! Exclamation points!
And more!

Details
=======================
Note that, if you want to be surprised by the new types of dragon, you may want to skip the following section.

Blizzard Dragon: Conjures a life-leeching blizzard while in combat.
Dracolich: Summons Draugr and can only be harmed by hitting the Essence floating around it.
Dragon Firesage: Launches a steady stream of fire attacks.
Dragon Frostsage: Launches a barrage of frost attacks every ten seconds.
Ice Dragon: Forms a regenerating suit of icy armor.
Illusion Dragon: Conjures phantasmal copies to confuse and chip away at its enemies.
Inferno Dragon: Conjures short-lived sentient fireballs to overwhelm its foes.
Oblivion Dragon: Summons Daedra to its location wherever it lands.
Shadow Dragon: Vanishes as it flies through the air.
Spectral Dragon: Sends an invulnerable, life-draining mist to devour any enemies.
Twin Dragons: Call an ally to help them.
Wild Dragon: Calls a steady stream of wildlife to its aid.
Wind Dragon: Sends anything nearby flying with its tail bash, landings, liftoffs and breath attacks.

Known Bugs and Compatibility
=======================
This mod currently breaks the Blade in the Dark quest, where Delphine fails to notice when you kill Sahlokniir and halts the quest progress.

Dragons Diversified may have compatibility issues with any mod that changes the Dragon Leveled List (including the actor that uses it as a template). If you are using Deadly Dragons, make sure you also use the compatibility patch available at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3829

Changelog
=======================

v1.05: April 6, 2012
-Made Alduin somewhat less face-meltingly hard. He's still terrifying (much moreso than in vanilla), just not *as* terrifying.
-The Dragon Frostsage's (and, by extension, Alduin's) rapid-fire attacks are no longer AoE.
-The later Ice Dragons' armors regenerate more slowly.
-Made the dragons' assorted summons immune to mind control effects.
-The Spectral Dragon's mist will now vanish when it goes under 30% health, to stop it murdering the player while they rodeo the dragon to death.
-The Spectral Dragon's mist will now move to the Dragon whenever it takes off, in hopes that it will get embarrassingly stuck less.
-The Spectral Dragon will now drop visible remains when slain, and looks a bit fancier while dying. Thanks to the Nexus' Aknevrec.

v1.0a: March 29, 2012
-Now includes actual, bundled-in scripts! Sorry to the almost-500 people who downloaded a completely non-functional mod.

v1.0: March 28, 2012
-Initial release

Simply put, this mod is not fun for high-leveled players. I'm over level 70 at the moment, and there's too many inconsistencies for me to be able to recommend this mod. The Firesage & Frostsage dragons aren't fun to fight at all. Having them constantly spam spells is amusing for about 3 seconds, until you realize that you can't see a damned thing. Without my 90%-95% fire/frost DR from enchantments, I think they'd be virtually impossible to fight efficiently on anything but the lowest difficulties. Wind dragons, while mechanically interesting, only seem to spawn in at lower levels with little health. Necrodragons are the most interesting of the bunch, but sometimes they spawn without their weakspots, leading to long draughts of waiting for axe bleed damage to take them out. This mod has a lot of potential, but in it's current state it's incredibly unforgiving for high leveled players. I can't recommend this to anyone without drastic improvements for high level players.

Dovahkiin posted this already, but here it is again.
This seems to be a patch to make this mod compatible with Dragonborn. It's over at the Skyrim Nexus at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50844/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D50844%26preview%3D&pUp=1
I'll be trying this out.

I agree with TyrantX. My husband bought me the ES Anthology, so all the DLC came with it. I'm not computer savvy enough to disable the DB DLC (if that's even possible). This mod looks amazing...I'd love to be able to use it!

some one needs to make a dragon born version of this.

no dlc required?

I'm running into a consistent issue, but it seems to only be with the Ice Dragon. Something about the regenerating armor causes the game to no longer recognize the Dragon as dead. It stops the game from allowing you to absorb the soul. This isn't such a big issue on random dragons, but I've had Story Dragons become an Ice Dragon. If that happens, the game hangs up because the dragon doesn't register as dead.

That said, it seems a few other people are running into soul absorb issues recently. This is an amazing Mod, and I've always loved the different dragon types. I'll try the NexusMod version of this. If it still persists with that version, I'll let you know.

Thing I'm fairly certain may be a bug in this: After fighting a newly finned blood dragon, at least the name read as blood dragon, I was interested to find that I wasn't absorbing its soul.

When I got this mod and went to Shearpoint I was pleasently surprised by a Shadow Dragon being pearched upon everyone favourite word wall.

Kudos on the mod.
