Zombie Survival Training

Added another outfit and weapon

This is Zed.

He is a genetically cloned zombie created for one purpose. To die.

Do not feel pity for him, rest assured he feels nothing for you. In fact, he feels nothing at all, except hunger.

Given the opportunity he would viciously kill you and all those dear to you, condemning you to join him in his doomed, soulless existence. The Apocalypse Preparedness Initiative is here to make sure that doesn't happen.

Our Zombie Survival Training program will give you the skills needed to be prepared for any undead encounter.

The apocalypse may not yet be upon us, but here at API, we believe it's never too early to be prepared.

This game is just basically about shooting a zombie in the face until his head explodes. That's pretty much all there is to it at this early stage.

I started making it a couple of years ago when I first discovered Game Maker on the Mac. I'd never made a game before but I had messed around with Director back in the day so the software was vaguely familiar. I stopped working on the game after realising GM Mac didn't do anti aliasing and it looked horrendous, so I basically just shelved it and decided to wait. Fast forward to now and the advent of GM Studio on Steam, felt like the right time to dust it off.

As you can probably tell, it's not much of a 'game' right now. More of a proof of concept really. I have a mountain of ideas of what I want to add to it: modes, weapons, challenges, stat tracking, levelling system etc. Basically it's just time and learning curve holding me back right. But I've really enjoyed the experience so far and I'll keep chipping away at it until it resembles something more professional.

Pistol: Left mouse to fire, right mouse to reload

Telekinesis: Hold left mouse

R key: resets room

M key: goes back to menu

00: Zed
01: Zedneck
02: The Walking Zed

In pistol mode, right click on the bullet icon when you're out of ammo to load a 100 bullet clip.

All the graphics are created by me.

Pretty much got all of the sounds from – brilliant site. I will endeavour to get every individual sound credited and referenced.

Found a MIDI of 'She's not there' and have set it as quiet background musak amongst gunfire and whatnot.

Feel free to point out bugs or glitches you find. There's not that much to it, but I'm sure there's things I've missed. Suggestions and opinions are also welcome, happy to hear your thoughts on the game.

Cheers guys.

Excellent game! I found it great for working out my daily frustrations by projecting my boss onto the zombie and shooting it in the face.... a lot!

Great artwork, and very nice black humour.

Awesome work!
