Description
This is my first mod. It is very simple. I'm sorry I can't give screenshots yet, but I will have some soon. What this mod does is change the weapons damage of real life weapons, such as the long bow, iron dagger, steel dagger, and iron and steel war axes. I was always vaguely annoyed about how under-powered those weapons were. Everyone knows that in real life, a long bow was a very powerful weapon. And about the war axes and daggers, everyone knows that the material a weapon is made from does not affect how powerful or sharp it can be. Of course, I didn't give them the damage they would have had in real life, because they would be incredibly overpowered, but I did make them more powerful than before. The longbow in particular irritated me. Hmph. TAKE THAT BETHESDA! You give me an underpowered longbow, I'll show you!
note: I also plan to change the name of the steel dagger to saxe knife, in honor of Ranger's Apprentice.

NOTE:This mod is dead. I will not be improving it anymore. And if you like Ranger's Apprentice, I have another mod that is messed up in some serious ways. It was a ranger's apprentice themed mod, adding a new Araluen race and ranger gear. unfortuneately, I do not have the skills or the time to fix it and make it work properly. In the screen where you make your character, the Araluen race is there twice and it only has a head. No body or anything. Also, I can not make the 3D models for new weapons and armor. I will post that mod soon so that anyone can use it and fix it and make it work. I definitely can't make it work. Be on the lookout for that if you want it. But make sure you acknowledge me when and if you post a fixed version.

Oh, bethesda dude, i have the 2nd and 3rd books in brotherband signed and in hardback. and some other news about rangers apprentice. I have met the author, and he said that in Australia, The lost Stories was considered the 11th book, and that he is writing a 12th book in which will gets a FEMALE apprentice. Oh, by the way, I am not going to make any more improvements on this, so anyone who wants to take it and use it can do it. Just make sure that if you put your version of it on the workshop, acknowledge that I made it originally. Oh, and I have another mod that I was going to post eventually, but I don't have the skills or the time to finish it. It was supposed to be an Araluen ranger gear kit with a new Araluen Race. Unfortuneately, that race is very screwed up and I can't make the proper weapons and armor. I will post it soon with a warning that it is kind of messed up and that anyone can use it and fix it as long as i am acknowledged in the description.

Hey, just throwing this out there, the longbow may be a powerful bow, but realistically it should be the weakest. The rest of the bows in the game are composite, or recurve bows. It's a design that was origionally developed in mongolia, and though the longbow was historically the best, that's because it was being compared to french crossbows and the like. A Mongolian composite bow had much greater range, power, and drawstrength required than an English longbow. That's a composite shortbow. The Hunting Bow in skyrim is effectively a Composite longbow, and every other bow in the game after that is a recurve. For this reason, it would me unrelistic if you made only the longbow more powerful, and not every other bow in the game. Sorry for geeking out on you. I just felt I had to speak up.

jtwolf, I would do that, except that I cannot make or edit 3D models. If you can make me a 3D model of a longbow as tall a nord male, send it to me. I will give you my email only if I know you will do it. Remember, the file format has to be .nif

The long bow in skyrim is simply bow with a desighn of a long bow, what makes a long bow a long bow is the fact that they were over 6ft tall, altho youer mod is good I would appreceate it if you could make a new kind of bow, called the longbow, and make it as tall as a male nord, then give it that damage stats, while relableing the vinilla long bow a practice bow.

But it was only powerful in the hands of someone who spent most of their short life training to be a longbowman. The english longbow was a down right frightening weapon in medieval europe because it was so strong, took immense strength to use, had a huge range, and was fired in volleys. What might be a bit more realistic is if you could purchase a perk that reflected this quality, which you actually can. It's called bullseye. If you think that the perk isn't enough, maybe you could try a hand at modding that?

What I'm saying is that the longbow is underpowered. Horribly underpowered. In real life, a longbow was a very powerful weapon.
