...Sadly, FoTS do not offer enough type of artillery...which my mod hopefully will...
I find the leap from Wooden Cannons into Rifled Wrought Iron and Steel Cannons a bit too... abrupt. May these become some decent stepping stones...
This is currently, from my limited knowledge, the Second Shogun Total War 2 Mod which uses some entirely new, Original, User-made models.

The Return of S2TW old Fire Rockets in Boshin Era - It is cheaper for Daimyo to equip the masses with oversized fireworks than casting cannons...
>6lb Smoothbore Bronze Guns
Even though obsolete by western standard, these old-fashioned Guns are easy to procure, and lethal at its job.
>4 Inch Mortars
Practically the same even from The Sengoku Jidai era of the old, this weapon possess an ability other cannons couldnt - Firing in very high Angles and raining death from above...
>12lb M1841 Howitzer
Extremely effective in close-range, battle-proven in the battlefields of The American Civil War.
>Horse Light Gun Artillery
Team of Horses pulling Bronze "Yonkin Sanpou", they are fast in Battle and Campaign alike.
>Horse Howitzer Artillery
If guns not strong enough, try howitzers...
>12lb M1857 Gun-Howitzer "Napoleon"
Even though it bears the name of an Emperor, its popular amongst Shogunate Artillerymen...All explosive shells are called "Napoleons" by the Japanese Crews at the time.

Accurate, Deadly, Slender Black Beauty of Wrought Iron, They are light and stings hard.
Fort Batteries
Never assume the bombarded fort would never shoot back-This Mod grants Fortifications Artillery Garrison...
Starting from Makeshift Wooden Cannons, Fire Rocket Militias, and up to 4 Inch Mortar and 20lb Cannon Battery
Besieging Castles would be more challenging....

FOTS Artillery Tweaks v.3
-Increase Parrott and Armstrong Guns Range to 750, but with a small decrease in accuracy and reload time
-Decrease Wooden Cannon Range to 400
-Increase Parrott and Armstrong Pulling Horse to 6. Realistically, 2 Horse wouldn't be strong enough. Gameplay wise, better mobility for Artillery.
-Orbital Artillery Fix
Long Range Fire Support now come in shallower angle, not Orbital like Vanilla.(Vanilla 60 degrees, Tweaked to 30 degrees)
-Parrott and Armstrong Gun Maximum Elevation Reduced
Now Fires in Shallower Angle.
-Combined Artillery Train HP Reduced
From 50 to 15, now easier to kill
Improved Shots and Shells Dynamics.
Roundshots punch bigger holes in formations than in Vanilla
Roundshot Impact kicks possibly-injuring pebbles everytime it bounces.
Added Simulated Fuse Defects for Round Shells.(Hey Its hard to set time fuses right...)
It Could be a dud...Or the shells explodes prematurely...So Interesting situations like this can happen: A Shell Incoming...No it fell short...but wait it bounces, not exploding...Oh, It Bounces over the heads...Is it a Dud? nope, it explodes right over them...

@Nikolay Mortars are notoriously difficult to use. The cannoneer needs to cut the wick at just the right length. Too long and it impacts in the ground where it could get extinguished and not explode, or cut it too short and explode harmlessly overhead. That is an unfortunate but very realistic feature with these mortars. Nothing you can do about it. At least I think you mean that.

Guys why the fire shell explosive in the air right on the top of the enemies. It barely killed anyone.

No go, CTD on end round, tried many campaigns, sometimes it happens after 2 rounds, other times after 10 etc.

ok i got a crush after the stastionary "big" guns (i think they are called napoleonian 12pounders or something like that) the ones that are same as the coastal batteries... its when the make contact and while i am close to the smoke effect they make.. plz any help i cnt continue my campaing :( marry xmas and happy new year all!

Is the fact that "garrison" artillery can be taken out of its garrison and used in the regular mobile army intentional?
