Don't like the new light stool? Want to go back to a simple bulb/light orb to light up hallways or create special effects in your comics/machinima like the one in Garry's Mod 11? Now you can with the Classic Lightbulb Stool!

It has the fully customizable rope tether, colors, brightness, and radius settings that the GMod 11 Light Stool did. It's also usable as a prop, just like in the old days. As a bonus, it does NOT overwrite the new light stool and has its own cleanup options, so you can use them both in tandem!

Credits: Garry Newman for the Light Stool, of which this code was loosely based off of.

(Updated! There was a model I used that gave the Classic Light nice ball-like physics, but it turned out to be from HL2:EP2 and not HL2 like I thought. Rather than telling everyone to go out and buy ep2, I simply ripped the model and updated my content accordingly. Sorry for the inconvience!)

NOTE: Several friends and fellow Gmodders have tested this mod on their server and confirm it works well. The default maximum spawn limit of the Classic Light is set for 10, however, admins can change this in the console by this command: sbox_maxclassiclight + the limit you want to set. For example, if you wanted the limit to be 100, you would type "sbox_maxclassiclight 100" in the console. Thank you server admins for testing this for me!

That is a problem with the duplicator, unfortunately. Try Advanced Duplicator.

Yo! It's been long since I used this. I remember that when I left the colored lights on a game, saved it, quitted, got back and loaded the save, the light bulbs stayed there, but all white without the color I gave to them. I couldn't grab them nor eliminate them. I wonder if that's fixed now?

Ah, ok. It may be because it doesn't duplicate all the necessary settings. As said before, you can recolor the light using the color stool. Just make a note of the color you used before when making the light and use the color stool to readd it.

I was using the standard gmod duplicator its neither of those it only shows the effects it makes with out the color

Okay... what duplicator (the standard gmod one of advanced duplicator) were you using exactly? And does it show up as an actual error.mdl or just not show the color? If it's just the color you can re-color it using the color tool.

I found a bug where if you duplicate somthing with the light it will error out and not show it as the right color

Yes it is.

I have a question is it toggleable

The rope that is used is just like the rope used in the rope stool and the normal gmod light stool. There is no way to change the rope to make it behave differently. You can try right clicking to spawn a light without a rope and playing with the rope stool to see if you can get a better result. I think there are also a couple of ragdoll cables that you can recolor as a rope, but I can't remember what they are off hand.
