Tomatekh's Historical Religion Mods
15 items
Description
This mod is compatible with both the Brave New World and the Gods and Kings expansions.

An edited down version of the mod which only includes religions which the official civs have a preference for (13 new religions) can be found here: Historical Religions Edit (BNW or GK). A version which includes all of my various denomination packs in a single download can be found here: Historical Religions Complete (BNW & GK).

~~~
This mod adds 49 additional historical (pre-modern and indigenous) religions and schisms to the base game. The religions are complete with icons, civlopedia entries, etc.
The individual leaders are also updated to choose their appropriate historical religion. A civ's in-game religious preference is, if applicable, listed in parenthesis after the religion in the list. This is merely their programmed preference and not any indication of where a religion originated. A civ may only have preference.
~~~

Note:
- This mod requires either the Brave New World or the Gods and Kings expansions.
- Updates to the mod will most likely break saved games. Do not update unless you are ready to start a new game.

~~~
Modders, please see this link[forums.civfanatics.com] for instructions on how to include internal support for this mod within your civilization mods.
@Danny
My best adivce would be to look at the file structure and art files included in this mod to see how to mod a new religion in.
How do I add my own religion? with custome icon? :\
@Guardian of Tamriel
Probably not, Nazists would attack everyone in the name of "The One True Faith".
Etihwa Nov 21 @ 7:44am
You should add Nazism :3
Okay, I discovered what the issue with the religions and the purchase screen was caused by, and it's not this mod. If Kelnahas's Palestine mod is enabled, it causes the issue. Sorry for the false alarm with this one.
This is something in the base game that always bugged me. Shouldn't Korea's default religion be Taoism and China's be Confucianism. After all, it is Korea whose flag's every component is a Taoist symbol, what with the circle in the middle being the Yin and the Yang and the bars in the fours corners representing differing levels of Yin and Yang. Perhaps in a future update you could fix Firaxis' mistake, Tommy?
Tomatekh  [author] Nov 11 @ 12:30pm
Hmmm, I'll look into it, but there should be no reason why any of the religions would interfere with any other aspect of the interface.
I've just discovered a strange bug with this one. If your city is following Razana, you can't access the purchase screen. Clicking on the tab doesn't open it. If you try it the turn before your city starts following Razana, it works fine. If you try it the next turn (once it is following Razana) it doesn't work.
This was awesome. I loved the range of religions, as well as the support for a whole lot of the mod civs. Excellent work with this one.
Ah. That is what happened. When I turn on mods, I go into "Mods" and select a mod and start a game. The negative effects are present bvut the positive effects are nonexistant.
