Two New Parts, Music, Tuning, Oh My!

Crashtastic, now includes a piston (which can be controlled with custom keys) and the rotator!

The Rotator:

The Rotator isn't exactly a piece. You are allowed to select a given side of a node which will rotate with any attached piece. In addition, you can limit the rotation of the piece by selecting the appropriate pieces of the "starburst" when creating the rotator.

Piston:

Pistons are added in a similar fashion to a brace.They can be controlled (default keys are I and O). The default keys can be changed in the "Tune" menu.

Tuning Menu:

The new "Tuning" menu is accessed from the vehicle editor.

You can assign keys to rockets and pistons.
You can assign power to the rockets and shocks.
These settings will persist on loading and any tweaks you make during simulation.

Music:

Three music tracks created by the talented Chris Apple.
Updated settings menu to enable Music Volume Control.

Bug Fixes and Improvements:

Improved brace system. You no longer need to attach it to two nodes. One will be created at the
correct location.
Fixed lighting on a few levels and menus.
Fixed issue wih extra pieces showing up in replay
Fixed an issue with duplicated Nodes.

Crashtastic is a physics based vehicle sandbox game. The goal is simple... build fully destructible vehicles to help your robotic rag doll companion accomplish goals in the challenge mode, or torture him in the sandbox mode by building the most convoluted series of ramps, quarter pipes, walls, and watching him crash at insane speeds.

Crashtastic is currently in the alpha stage and is already available to people who have pre-ordered the game. There is already quite a bit of entertaining content, but I have plans for much more. I continue to update the game on a regular basis and host a site dedicate to soliciting feedback from the community (http://crashtastic.userecho.com). The community votes on features, and I prioritize based on the number of positive votes. The sandbox mode is an example of a feature implemented based on feedback.

Current Features:

Support for both Windows and Mac. (Linux will be available in the future).
Build fully destructible vehicles in an intuitive editor using various sized blocks, braces, shocks, and wheels.
Power your vehicle with adjustable rockets.
Control your vehicle with steerable wheels and controllable rockets.
Challenge Levels - 22 Levels Including, jumps, head-on collisions, targets, and race through checkpoints to the finish.
Sandbox Mode - Build levels to test your designs, or just go crazy and crash vehicles till your hearts content.
Replay Viewer - Watch each crash over and over! Speed it up, watch it in slow motion, or even in reverse. Share it with your friends by uploading to YouTube directly from the game.
Global Records - Track various stats per level, compare them to your friends, and see how you stack up around the world.

Planned Features:

Level Editor - Using the same interface as the sandbox mode, you can Build, Play, and Share challenge levels.
Additional Parts - Rotaters, pistons, and a few more things!
More Challenge Levels - I have plans for a bunch of additional challenge levels
Crates! - Every game needs crates... both the normal and the explosive kind.
Story Mode
Asynchronous Multiplayer - Challenge your friends to see who can build the best vehicle capable of surviving a head-on collision.

I hope to release the final version of the game early 2013.
