Description
Can you LEAP like a GAZELLE?

Difficulty: easy-medium

Tutorial and training for what I call the 'gazelle leap'. Requires some timing and reflexes, but are we men, or are we gazelles? Has a bit of a puzzle near the end, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Hint (read if stuck):
By Jove Vapour Waterhandle dear Sir, I cannot for the life of me cross this gap! What kind of magic to you expect me to conjure from my very ordinary bowler hat?! Aye, only that you leap like a gazelle, good sir. Let your red instincts guide you, and put some ankles in those hind legs!

Update 1:
Added another section, so that the concept is teached more graduately.!

Update 2:
Done some more optimization for the trickiest part, so the difficulty is now easy-medium.

Update 3:
Two players gave feedback, wishing for one more jump for even more gradual teaching and I now have another section with that.

Update 4:
After watching a friend play I made a few significant changes on the flow and clarity of the map.

Apparently LPChip deserves credit for the idea I mentioned. He threatened me with his lawyer and I gladly comply. LPChip is also very handsome and smart. All I said is the truth.

First I was unable to do this at all. I just didn't understand what to do. I see with the updates you made that its now actually understandable what to do and I managed to do the trick. Thanks for this great map! :)

This time I did every jump on the first try. I was practicing this recently when playtesting my latest map. Now that I know about this I have to prevent the player from abusing that trick when I use speed gel on a map. It was giving me a lot of headache. In my puzzle you have to make a runway by transporting gel in a funnel. But with this trick you could totally skip that and use the little amount of gel that drops through a wall portal as runway. The solution I came up with was having a portalable 45 degree angled panel beneath the gel dropper, that way only half a tile is splatted with gel from a wall portal.
I enjoyed playing your map but I'm sure this exploit will haunt me again when I want to have speed gel on a map.

I finally updated the map with that new jump. I also stuck a glass wall next to the faith plate, in hopes of preventing being able to jump to the ledge with the cube button (well I can't pull it off anymore). It's not the most elegant solution, but moving the plate made the real solution harder and I chose for functional.

Thanks. It's always nice to see someone comment on one of my maps with their thoughts, because the rating system is a bit inadequate for that. I also read your feedback in the LOOP thread. Seeing as now two people wished for another jump, I will probably try to add one in the near future, but probably after I'm done with another map.

Your map worked pretty much on me as you described in the LOOP thread. I was still a slow learner, trying to leap from the faith plate back to the side with the button and the flip panel. It eventually worked and only later I saw the meaning of the laser. When I got back to the beginning I leaped like a gazelle to the exit on my very first try. :)
It took me 25 minutes to complete the map, which is a lot. But I always enjoyed it, even at the times I was acting silly. Good stuff. Thanks for mapping.
