Portal 2: The Aftermath
19 items
The basic idea behid this is that when you enter the chamber, some sort of explosion (or panel amlfuntion) happens causing you to fall down( more than you catually do, I just like to pretend that you fell much lower than that,) and land at one of the water distrubution tunnels. As you fall, you crash through a broken testchamber, while things are exploding and turning on and off (due to electrical problems). Don't worry, there is STILL a HIDDEN COMPANION CUBE in this level. Try to find it, and say in the comments if you did!! :D

ATTENTION: This part IS VERY IMPORTANT to the plot! : )

In elevator at beggining:
GLaDOS: Well, I guess I will just have to hope for the best, the control sphere that I put in charge of the bombing facility went a little heywire, causing an incredible amount of destruction, even in communications and panel construction. Anyways--nothing to worry your little, lackadaisical mind about--you just get back to testing and everything will be (in a depper tone) just (deeper) fine. [GLaDOS' dialoge should be immedietly interupted as soon as the panels open, these are just notes so I know what to do if I use hammer or something :)]
When panels open:
Oh my, did I just hear an explosion--it's alright, nothing happened just--hello?
Where are you, the cameras are'nt sending back any signals. he_____--_

GLaDOS: Listen, if you can hear me: This place has gotten too out of control, try to make your way back to the main testing area--and you will get cake, and don't even TRY any clever plans. ALthough this place is temporly out of my control, I can always turn this end of power out, causing the air supply to get off if I get a suspicion----Wait, I got it. Just get back to the main testing area from here j-___--___shhhhhhh_
*Explosion herd from distance and loud, heavy metal scraping.

NOTE: It will help you understand the plot if you simply ignore the elevator at the end, the feeling is supposed to make you fell like you are in the 'inner workings' of Aperture'

Leave a comment if you found the companion cube! Thanks for playing : )

Thank you (I think). :)

At the moment my PC was REAAAALLY low-end (still kind of is), so I couldn't make that great of an intro to the next chapter (esp. since I was still in the puzzlemaker)

Very quick and simple.

@:D Samskies :D
Thank you very, very much!!!! :D (I even get legitimate cake!)
That is got to be the greatest feedback I have ever gotten on this map, and I am GLaD you liked it! ;-)

My favourite 10/10 and a cake (that is not a lie)

Yeah, well, the problem is though, I have no means of getting money right now, other than chriwstmas money, which I choose to keep to buy presents. I am hoping to do some sort of petsitting buisiness though, but for now, I do not have a source of money :/ But yeah, once I do, I will start saving for maybe like 2 or 3 more gigs of ram! :)

Ram is really cheap these days, so thats a simple choice (given that the ram your pc has, can still be bought of course)
Spamfan  [author] Oct 27, 2012 @ 9:26am
Yeah, actually, I am REALLY considering doing that, I would love too, so players can apreciate it better. :( I am considering getting more RAM too, also, which would be great! :D

Too bad, you cannot archieve what you wanted to archieve with PeTI alone.

makes the playtime too short for a level and without any special effects the player just dont get the idea. You should consider porting this to hammer and add the effects you need. You can export this map to hammer you know..,.

You asked what went wrong, I think you just did not read the description, sorry in the description there are important plot points. : )
If I could put more of a challenge into this level, then I would have. Thank you for your feedback though, and do not worry, in the next parts of this chapter, it gets a lot more challenging, the player must use gels, momentum and other things to navigate their way. Enjoy! :D

Before I asnwer your question, there was a part in the original game of Portal 2, specifically in Chapter 1, where the player obtained the blue handheld portal device. And there was not much of a challenge there, all the player had to do was walk, and place 3 blue portals. That area was not really supposed to be a challenge, and neither was this area, it was simply to make the player realize where they were, it would have been hard to put more of a challenge there, as my computer does not have a lot of ram, and normally crashed when I make complex and/or large levels. There was almost no challenge in that area at all. I am doing basically the same thing VaLVE did in that level, I am sorry that this level disapointed you, but it is what it is.
