I love this game. The lore is fascinating and the gameplay is satisfactory. The music is just epic. It would be a perfect game if it wasn't so much focused on RNG.

I enjoyed the first game more than this sequel. While this game is enjoyable, if you played the first game, you're probably going to feel disappointed by some changes.

Just like the first game there are 3 factions. A new addition is 2 smaller sub-factions. However, the skills available for the sub-factions are very disappointing. The most disappointing of them all is the Outlaws (the Outlaws are no longer a faction), there are only 3 skills that award you 1 chem recipe each.

The crafting has been simplified. Something that I enjoyed from the first game was that you could choose which elemental effect to add to your weapons. You can’t do this in Elex 2.

Some aspects of the story are also disappointing. For instance, something huge happens in the ending, something that should make a certain NPC react to that ending. Instead that NPC's reaction is on par with Steven Seagal acting skill.

I’m glad this game keeps the long-standing tradition of making video game children look like nightmare fuel.

In all seriousness tough, Elex 2 is not a bad game. Grab it when is on sale, don’t pay full price for it.

I really loved this game. The soundtrack is great, the gameplay is fun, and the art style is captivating. The gameplay gave me some Legend of Zelda vibes. You explore, solve puzzles, and collect items using the unique play style of four different characters. The game is short but I really enjoyed every second. The only downside is the ending, the story ends unsatisfactorily without properly ending each character's backstory. Nonetheless, it is a great game that I definitely recommend.

I'm not a huge fan of Card Games or TCGs, but I enjoyed playing this one. The story is really short but has replayability. The art is good and the gameplay feels right. There're a lot of cards to choose and different strategies to implement. I hope the developer adds more cards in the future.

I definitely recommend this game. The developer is friendly, engages with players, listens to suggestions and is really invested in the game, releasing new features and fixing bugs.

The story is very short, you can complete it in a few hours. However, the sidequests and additional content the game provides will give you hours of enjoyment. Although I have to admit that I felt somewhat disappointed with the story, not because it was bad, but because of how short it was, it left me wanting to know more about the lore and what's going to happen next. On the other hand, that's good on its own way, I'm looking forward to next installment in the series.

Considering this game was made with RPG Maker, software mainly used for making RPGs, I was very impressed by the level of variety and detail that was put into it. I didn't know it was possible to achieve something like this with RPG Maker. There's a lot of different stuff to do. You can tell a lot of effort was made into implementing all this different gameplay mechanics.

My only complaint is the relationship development between the main character and his love interest. The romance felt somewhat forced, when the romantic feelings were revealed I was like: "Wait, what? why?". Perhaps if the story was longer there would have been more room for developing the romance trough it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to actually play the game. The game fails to launch. A look at the process list, using the task manager, reveals that the game process is currently running, the game seems to get stuck and fail to launch completely, even steam says the game is running. The four minutes of playtime I currently have is the time I stood waiting for the game to load, it never did. It’s a shame I can’t even play the game to give it a proper review. For the time being, I don’t recommend this game. For anyone interested in this game , be careful, I don’t know if this is rare or common bug, but be prepared for the worst.

This isn't a videogame, this is art, a masterpiece. I wasn't expecting such magnificent emotional experience. Just like Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna), this game will always have a place in my hearth.

Finally finished getting all the achievements and all the lore entries. This game is epic, it's a Metroidvania with RPG elements. If you're a Metroidvania fan, then you will love this game. It has flaws, but they don't matter much. Even with those flaws this game is very enjoyable.

I will start by stating that this game broke the "d" key on my cheap keyboard (it gets stuck from time to time), but I guess that's to be expected, I’ll just buy another cheap keyboard. Playing with a controller is better overall and with a keyboard the game fails to receive some inputs from the arrow keys. For example, if you keep pressed the left or right arrow keys when you are going from one room to another, you will notice that in the new room your character is not moving despite having the arrow key still pressed. It's a minor inconvenience because all you have to do is stop pressing and then press the key again. This minor bug doesn't happen with a controller. I also experienced a bug twice, in which the screen transition doesn’t happen and your character falls into the darkness beyond room bounds. However, if you consider my total playtime this was a very rare bug.

My big complaints about this game don't have anything to do with bugs, but rather with some design choices, that while they may not necessarily be considered flaws, they still annoy me a lot.

First, the scream of the sirens, I find them so annoying that I prefer to mute the game in the areas where they appear. Second, enemies’ projectiles can go through walls, that’s right, walls are pretty much nonexistent for enemy projectiles, your projectiles can't do the same. Third, the knockback and staggering in this game doesn’t make any sense at all, those huge goliaths barely knock you back but a poison bubble will hit you like a train. This and the second complaint can make the game very frustrating in areas filled with enemies that throw poison bubbles, imagine finally reaching that tall and hard to reach spot only to be knocked down to the first floor by a puny poison bubble that phased trough all the walls like they weren’t there and hit you in a corner outside your field of view. The siren projectiles don’t knock you back, instead they make you jump, …ok, what’s the purpose of that? Am I supposed to be impressed or something? That animation serves no purpose at all. If you’re like me and find these things annoying, then brace yourself when you reach those areas. Fourth, lore wise, the game leaves many questions unanswered. By the way it starts, it makes you feel that the game is a sequel to some other game, which makes you ask am I missing something? Where is the first game? The reality is that there is no such game and this is the first (Or at least I couldn’t find it anywhere in the internet). By the way it ends, it leaves you hoping for a sequel, which doesn’t exist (the game was released in 2013).

You may be asking yourselves why am I giving a recommendation for this game after all that I said. The answer is that, despite all of that, at the grand scale my experience with this game was very enjoyable and satisfying, that’s just how good this game is.

The game is fun specially if you play it with a friend, otherwise you can get bored by the repetitive stages and repetitive enemies. Sadly, not many people play this game at the present time. I feel like this game needs more missions with more variety, not only in the stages but in the enemies. The current missions are just the same stages revisited, and the monsters are all the same.
