7 years old and it's still a top tier shooter today.

Valheim is so good.

The exploration, the building, the music, the character progression, the combat, the bosses, the graphics... It all comes together to create the perfect survival game.

NA Players be warned.

Extremely unreliable queue times for all game modes. Sometimes its 2 minutes, sometimes 10, other times it's 30 seconds if you're lucky. They have seemingly permanently disabled duos and had solos disabled for a time as they struggle with playerbase. Unless you wanted to play on EU and AS servers with 150+ ping (which is a nightmare to play on), you'll be stuck with these queues.

They have very fragmented event modes which barely fill because of a lack of promotion for them, a whole separate map (the original snow map, Dione) that has been left on the backburner to be forgotten despite the unique play styles it brings, a pretty boring Adventurers Pass that recycles the same challenges from each prior season, a pass that they give players for free anyways at the end of each season for completing 7 very easy "challenges".

That game was once an insanely fun and unique spin on the Battle Royale genre, but it's a rapidly dying game for NA players especially (Even the post announcing it's leave from early access declares that they are dropping the Duos queue entirely for ALL regions for the foreseeable future).

I cannot recommend this game in it's current state. Will gladly change my review to recommend it if they can turn things around. But I'm not holding out hope.

What a satisfying story-driven atmospheric FPS. If you're a fan of Metro 2033 and/or Metro: Last Light, you will find much joy from Metro Exodus. It wraps Artyom's story up perfectly (or terribly, depending on which ending you get) with super satisfying gunplay, rewarding exploration, jaw-droppingly gorgeous graphics, unmatched atmosphere, and much more.

Word of caution, this game definitely isn't "open-world" like some people may have been lead to believe. There are large, open-ended levels in which you are given free reign to explore and tackle at your own pace. You are given side quests in these areas that direct you to new areas of the map and help you progress side stories for characters in your crew and provide means to accessing hidden and useful upgradeables for your weapons and armor. The pacing between these open areas and the more linear levels are near perfect and just when you miss the open levels, you're tossed right into a new one.

I haven't experienced any game breaking bugs, or hardly any annoying bugs or crashes, but others have, so be aware of that.

A shame that it's trapped on the Epic Games Store for a year. This is a game that should be enjoyed by all fans of the series on any platform they choose.

Overall, I can fully recommend this game.

I snuck into a lonely old couple's home, killed them with my fists in a panic when they found me, and then looted their bodies and home...

Was it worth it...?

Not when I feel like a damn bandit in the process...

War truly is Hell.

EDIT:

Really enjoyableand unique setting, grim and bleak war-torn city where everyone is vying to survive the night.

Simple to learn, but challenging to master survival mechanics and now it's adding stories to the gameplay with new mechanics!

Definitely recommended.

Intense, tough as nails, amazing enemy design, even better sound design on top of that and just really fun.

Good luck surviving for just a minute.

Portal Knights Review
  • Legend of Zelda-esque gameplay
  • Large open islands to explore, each with their own theme
  • Fun enemy and creature design
  • Simple but cool character creation
  • 3 classes to choose from; Warrior, Ranger and Mage each with their own weapon proficiencies and perks
  • Minimal RPG leveling every 5th level
  • Mining, crafting through workbenches, planting and base building
  • Fun progression, especially in crafting with new weapons and armor to unlock
  • Exciting updates from developers, each one easily adding a new and fun element to this game
Fully recommended.
