I think most people here are writing reviews for the badge right now but I figured I'll at least write a review that doesn't just take up space. Anyways,

I very much like this game for several reasons. 1. The replayability. With all the DLCs and maps there's incredible replayability. No two games will be quite the same, especially if you choose the random personalities for leaders. 2. The cost is fantastic for this game. Since Civ 6 is coming around the corner they've lowered the prices on al previous versions. Even though this game is amazing, 11 USD is even better and there are frequent sales so you could probably get it at a ridiculously low price. 3. Gameplay. I find the gameplay amazing as it can be a nice blend of war stategy, many scenarios are based around this, and cultural blossoming. I've tried playing other games like Hearts of Iron IV but it always feels lke I'm just slowly watching some commander conquer the world. Finally, if you like history it could be a game for you. Playing as crusaders to retake the holy land, stopping a Japanese invasion or leading a Japanese are all packed into scenarios. The only scenario that's not that great is the American civil war which is to easy, maybe that's where a beginner like you could start off. Anyway despite being over six years old this game is still a gem to be reckoned with.

P.S. Only buy the complete edition. The game is trash without all the DLCs.
