Nice idea, but rather repetitive.

I enjoyed parts of this game. The concept is top hole and the atmosphere is great. The stories of the children are really good and it is worthwhile going to the basement and listening to the full versions. This adds to the atmosphere immensely. It's a shame the full versions aren't in the rooms where there is just a very short story.

However, I found the maze a real pain and doing it once was torture, but the same thing again and again was crazy. If you could carry more than one thing it would be ok, but padding out the game by making the player go back and forwards so much is really tedious. Also, some of the graphics had issues as I would get stuck in walls in parts and in others, especially just outside the house, the walls would be sometimes invisible, but still there. The huntsman himself was a bit annoying, but nothing too much to worry about.

This title would have been brilliant as a pure adventure, without the repetitive fetch quests and the arcade bit of the huntsman.

So, this game had some good areas, but the tedium of the fetch chores back and forwards through the maze sp[oilt it.

As the price is low, I'll recommend it, but would give it a score of 2.5 / 5 as it stands.
