Great graphics, sound, and experience.

I had been wanting to play this game for a while. I recently got it and had to try it out. At times, it reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus or Titan Souls. Maybe with a little bit of Zelda. All of the voices are done in Icelandic, I believe. Thankfully, it is translated. I think it was an interesting choice to preserve the foreign voicework. It really gives the game an authentic feel. Everything is hand drawn or painted, and in some cases can be chopped with the axe. Each world also has it's own distinct environmental effects so that no two worlds are the same. It really gives the game an "alive" feel. Each world typically has it's own enemies or environmental dangers. If one were to rush through the game, they would simply look for the runes on each level, then fight the boss. However, there are also additional skills to find on every level or two, plus golden apples that extend your life bar. There are also certain locations that reveal gorgeous backdrops or are mythological locations.I am now probably about half-way done with the game, but from what I understand it is about 5-10 hours long. However, for a game this beautiful, I think it's appropriate. I have a feeling that this game was probably made with a small team, and I think they did a great job. If this studio had more time, money, and manpower, I would love to see what they could do! Some have complained that the game is too easy. Personally, I think it is just right. So far, one boss has been difficult, one has been medium difficulty, and the other was easy.

I believe I got this game key from a trade on another website. However, today I decided to give it a try. It was a relatively small download, which is nice. The game has a simplistic story, but the presentation is pretty good. I have only played a short while, but what I have played so far is good. It seems to be a platformer with emphasis upon puzzles over action... at least at this point. While my PC can play it, it doesn't run the game at a very good FPS, even on low graphics settings, it does at least playable. I do feel like my PC should be able to run this game at a higher frame rate, but I've seen much worse. So, I'd say the optimization could be better, but is not horrible. I have tagged this game to play more in the future when I have a faster computer. The graphics are pretty cute and have a certain charm about them. The presentation is good. There are some characters who speak by means of text and gibberish which sounds like a foreign language. I believe the Zelda games may have used this method in the past. I believe it is effective and is much better than mere text.

This is a multiplayer only game that nobody plays. How could I even tell if it was worth playing if there is nobody to play it with and no single player option?

Well, I've had this game in my library for a while, so I decided to give it a shot. My laptop is not particularly fast, but I can play games like Skyrim and have a smooth and completely enjoyable experience. This game however, runs at such a low frame rate that's pretty much unplayable. Granted, I'm sure it works well one some people's computers, but I'd have to say that it must not be very well optimized. For that reason alone, I have no problem saying that I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a fast computer.

I did not know what to expect. While this game is pretty simplistic, it is fun, and the RPG progression seems to help keep the player interested.

Nice little game to get on sale or in a bundle. I think I picked this game up really cheap in a bundle. I was pleased to find it an enjoyable, but short game. I beat it in a few hours. It should be said that this game is a little bit like a metroidvania style game, but there is no fighting. There is jumping, aquiring items, using them in certain situations, backtracking, and figuring things out. The game has a nice retro feel. I wouldn't say the game has much of a story, but it does reveal a little bit along the way in a subtle way. All in all, I enjoyed it. There are a few little secrets that are enjoyable to find. I would recommend using the walkthrough that is found on the steam community board if you get stuck. The person who made that did a fine job. Check it out! I would have enjoyed the game more if there was some action, but it was still plenty enjoyable as is. I'd love to see the next things the developer makes.

I guess I'm now about 4-5 hours into this game, and I can say that I'm really enjoying it. This comes from one who has almost given up on RPG maker games. Skyborn is a game well done. While I don't anticipate it being very long, I think it should be just long enough. The story is good. The fighting system is good. The music is great. The level of polish is great! At this point, the game has given hints of secrets and things to keep the player busy well after the main quest. There is a coliseum in which I died on my first fight, a whole series of shops reserved for high level people in the Coliseum. I also believe there is probably a bonus dungeon, based upon things the NPCs say. The maker of the game has put a lot of effort into this game. While I would assume the RPG Maker program has it's limitations, at moments, I simply forget this is a RPGM game. The game does not have random enemy encounters. Instead, there are a limited number of on screen enemies. This puts a limit on the experience and gold one can earn. This puts grinding to a minimum and makes the player figure out how to use the system to beat the bosses. The only negatives I can mention is that nearly ALL RPG Maker games have moments of slowdown on my computer for some reason. I can run Skyrim at good FPS, but I think the performance problem is rooted in RPGM and my hardware. I can't fault the maker for that. The other thing, is that despite this game having what seems to be a pretty straightforward crafting system, I have no idea what I'm crafting and how much of each material the thing I am crafting takes. It says, "200% more ore" but doesn't tell me exactly how much of what. Perhaps I've missed something early on in the game. Other than that, I can gladly say that this is a great game. There are moments when the story, the action, and the music all come together to a near final fantasy level moment. Since then, I now have Deadly Sin and Deadly Sin 2. I've also got my eye on Echoes of Aetheria. One last thing, I believe I picked this game by either Humble Bundle or one of the bundle sites. If it were not for that, I never would have heard of it. I am glad I came across this gem!

I am a person who grew up playing JRPGs, but I've never been a big fan of some WRPGs or RPGs on PC. In my opinion, sometimes they seem to bog the player down managing trivial details such as repairing armor, managing backpack space, and the narrative falls far behind. I was pleased to see that this game has an interesting campaign and the gameplay does not bog the player down in senseless micromanaging.

Disciples Gold: Sacred Lands is a pretty good, but dated game. I bought this on a steam sale for $0.79, and I think it will yield many great hours of gameplay. The game seems pretty well done as far as the presentation is concerned. The game play took a little bit of figuring out, but I'd say I've pretty well got it now and I've never read the manual. To me, it reminds me a little bit of warcraft when it comes to the overworld and resource management. The fights play out like a simplified version of a turn based game. You do not really control what actions the players take or the order in which they take turns, but you control who they attack or heal, as well as the ability to skip players or run away. So, in some regards, it plays out like a top down Strategy RPG, but instead of the fight actions being represented merely as points of damage, it goes to a separate fight mode where the player has the ability to influence the outcome of fights. Then after the fight is done, it goes back to the overworld.

All in all, I'd recommend the game, especially if you can get it on sale. 79 cents is a steal, and I'll be looking forward to playing more of this game.

I got this game from Humble Bundle and had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was not particularly drawn by the strange title or artwork (square face icons). After a while, I decided to give it a shot. I've got to say, it is a well made game. It starts out easy, and you are slowly introduced to more difficulty. Though the artwork is... well... square faces, the makers did well to animate them and make a little bit of a story. It is surely quirky, but the game itself is solid. The music is good. It runs very smoothly. I can say that it feels a bit like a tablet game in some ways, but it doesn't take away from the PC experience. All in all, it is an enjoyable game that is quite quirky, but in a good way. It is good, clean fun with nothing objectionable that I have seen.

I would recommend buying this game on sale. I think I bought it for about $0.25. As far as I can tell, it is a pretty short game. I think I got about 40% done in about 15 minutes. I expect it to get harder. There is not much to say about the game, but here goes nothing.

It is a short game about a hot air baloon. There is a minimalistic story which helps to add a bit of something to the game. The art is fairly nice and unique. It seems that this game has a function to work with a microphone. I did not try this. While it may be fun, I expect it to be less precise. The controls are pretty good. The baloon has to do various tasks, such as picking up cargo, dropping it off, and landing. There is only one control, and that is gas (makes the baloon go upwards). The wind currents indicated on the side of the screen indicate the direction and speed of wind. While it is incredibly simply, it probably gets pretty challenging. Really, this game reminds me just a bit of the old game Pilotwings for the super nintendo. It is all about precision. It is an enjoyable little game. It's worth buying on sale. Unless there is a second map of levels beyond the first 17 or so levels, I would NOT recommend buying it at full price.
