This game genuinely makes me long for the world to end so I can build a fortified compound with my friends, living off the land and honing our various, specialised skills. I become an electrician, while my friends teach themselves woodworking and how to make cars.

That being said, the game is an ongoing reminder of my own mortality and how my life could be cruelly snatched away from me at a moment's notice by the smallest mistake.

10/10 game.

We built a moving house and sailed the seven seas living like kings.
Story is okay but nothing amazing, but really we just enjoyed exploring and making our mansion awesome.

Take your time to make your raft a home, don't rush the story and you'll have fun

Buggy, boring, and outright insulting.

The map is so much larger but there's less stuff in it, meaning the game is just primarily walking to different locations. Then, most locations require a certain item to access. Once you find it, the rest of the game flies by in 2 hours (which are mostly just running), and it makes it pointless to build anything.

You can ignore all enemies and just run past them, and the status bars have no negative consequence. I felt no need to eat, drink, sleep, or even fight. This makes it neither a horror game nor a survival game. In any case, if you die you just respawn nearby with all your stuff in a nearby backpack.

The ending is ridiculous, there isn't enough meaningful lore scattered throughout the game to predict it (like in the original) and the end is just random anyway, it makes no sense. Plus random characters I've never met appeared?

The Forest is the superior game. The sequel brings zero improvements beyond graphics and cannibal behaviour. The positive reviewers have deluded themselves into thinking that SotF lives up to the hype.

Fun but challenging gameplay, excellent art and absolutely outstanding narration

Fun gameplay, excellent soundtrack, immersive story, and absolutely hilarious.

My one gripe is that it's quite easy to get ahead of the curve in terms of paying bills so the game becomes quite easy, although the individual missions remain engagingly complex. Maybe it will get harder later.

My favourite part is getting lost to the vastness of space (it was my fault) and crying at my friend to help me (there is literally nothing they can do but I will shout at them when we fail the mission)

We call the robot a dog, say mean things about it and generally abuse it but we love her really

Best CoD since MW2019 for sure, but still full of utterly inexcusable bugs. For me this was multiple lighting issues in the campaign that made it literally unplayable, as well as general gameplay bugs (mission fail for following instructions, Price not taking a shot he said he'd make, Ghost repeatedly just standing behind enemies I'd instructed him to knife in Prison Break,). The missions are enjoyable but damn do you have to have the patience.

Paired with the utterly overwhelming and unnecessarily complex progression system in multiplayer (it is comical how many steps some unlocks take), I'm in a state of amazement that this game was not delayed. Another game on the stack of games that make me wonder what has happened to the games industry for AAA developers to think this is acceptable.

I'd ask how these bugs slipped through the cracks but to be honest it's more like gaping holes in the hull.
