Most innovative use of loading screens in 2023 I guess.

If Bethesda games are your jam, maybe grab it on a deep sale, but expect a solid 10~20% + of your time to be looking at loading screens. The loading screens do show your in game screenshots occasionally, but I don't think it should bin most innovative for that.

There are obvious relics of cut game play elements, like fuel, which basically just determines the number of loading screens between you and your destination after you get an hour or two into the game, bases can also generate this meaningless fuel.

I'll try to remember to edit this review if I ever pick it back up (and uninstall enough other games for the 120gb download).

I hope they can make this into something great, but if you waited this long for this game, go ahead and wait another year. It'll be a better experience I'm sure. (I hope)

Simple enough on the surface so it's easy to get into, enough depth to continue learning ways to improve your builds. Great little game!

Wrote a worm to take over the internet... worm backfires and the game crashes... repeat ten more times until the worm can successfully crawl through the internet and set up server farms as it goes.

Lots of interesting challenges to script / automate / optimize if that's your thing.

10/10 Would take over the internet again.

If you ever wondered what Dark Souls would be like in top-down mode, here is your answer.

Beautiful world and all the tension and rage of dying and losing all your valuables over and over.

After sitting on my wish list for a year, this game did not disappoint.

This is a very well put together game, but it feels like enjoying the game / having fun wasn't the top design goal.

As a fan of Dark Souls, the comparison is clear but subtle, traversing the map in this game often felt like a chore. There is a fast travel system but the checkpoints are far between and somewhat distant from POI's like merchants. You slowly open new shortcuts which make these trips shorter, but still a chore to visit a store for 5 seconds. This same thing applies to some bosses, spend 2 minutes getting to boss, die in 30 seconds, repeat 20 times... It's a bit of salt in the wound that at some point certain paths close and make some of these "common" trips even more tedious.

I came back to this game and gave it a second honest shot, and after 20 hours into this second playthrough I just don't want to keep back tracking and running through areas I've already cleared to check if I have whatever key I need to open up the unexplored dead end on my map.

Once you get what seems like the majority of the abilities and spells it feels good and controls well, but it just became to tedious to wander into where I needed to go, then even looking up hints of where to go it was still just too much going through the same boring halls to check dead ends until you find the one that actually leads to the next crucial upgrade.

I'm sure this is an amazing game to some, but it got to grindy in the wrong ways for my taste. I hate to leave a not recommended, but I think it will grab more attention from others with similar taste. Again, very well done game, but I think there are some lessons to be learnt from the design of this game.

TLDR; if you're grabbing this for the online multiplayer, don't get it on PC unless you're willing to do some troubleshooting :\

Didn't even get to play it, error 721, apparently pretty common and it could be you or the server, no real documentation on the actual error being encountered.

To fix this and be able to play online you'll have to do some configuration on your internet connection, possibly even your router settings and hopefully that will work, otherwise you'll need to go deeper. I saw one solution that was to just try to connect a few times and it should "just work"... it never did..

I don't think it's ok to expect a good percentage of players to go through this weird system level setup to be able to play multiplayer. F EA

Very cool asymmetric multiplayer (shooter if you want or not) set underwater so the movement (being able to swim vertically up and down) makes it very different other games.

I always get friends to play this and watch them struggle and tease them with hints. Lots of great puzzles that bend your mind.

More replayble than skyrim and makes me want to upgrade my cpu a notch like no other game ever has.
