I highly recommend waiting before you purchase this game. I also want to point out that a lot of the hypey reviews were posted merely minutes after this game was put on store. Don't trust the hype.
The core content during this stage is eating, drinking, "hunting" and growing up as a small carnivorous raptor on single player. The 'secondary level' content is interacting with the animals in the world around you, and obversing them.

Eating is simple, even in the worst of times where there was nothing to scavenge a little lizard would scurry out of the bush and provide enough to keep me going for while. This was by far the most enjoyable part of the game especially when you're just a little youngling look for scraps. Overall though, once you eat, there is little to nothing left to do.

Drinking is a breeze. Despite the small amount of hazards in the marsh areas including aligators and extra foot traffic from all kinds of dinos... once you've drank you don't have too for a long period of time. So once it's done, just like with hunger, there is nothing to do except sit around and wait. Maybe roam.

Hunting is by far the worst aspect of this game at the moment, which is unforunate considering how much of a core element in plays in the games overall enjoyment. Apart from the small lizard, you can hunt almost anything you find. APPARENTLY. In my experience, the aligators were impossible to kill (and could kill you in one bite while out of water). Other creatures weren't only impossible to kill from time to time, but almost immediately killed ME with one bite. In other words, if the animals weren't outright immune to my damage, only some of the hits worked, and the ones that did dealt almost no damage... but for them, I was merely a one or two hit kill even while I was an adult. As an attempt at faining content, this game is constantly trying to kill you so you're forced to restart.

Growing up is enjoyable and right now genuinely the only thing 'to do' in this games current state. Although once you become an adult, there is little drive to play any more. All attempts at hunting will result in instant death or extremely buggy AI ruins the experience. I'd say only 1/6th of the dinosaurs in this world are opperating properly, and even then its only a short amount of time till they too end up bugging out. I also bring up AI because it affects the 'parenting system'. Which in of itself isn't actually a system at the moment. Rather, the adult AI just doesn't hunt you. In reality, you're just following a buggy AI trying to scrap up its kills for food or eat its body once it's died. There is no interaction, let alone actual 'system' in place for parenting at the moment. It's a thinly veiled way of making it seem like you have parents, when its in fact just AI you spawned next too, perhaps for early food.

All of that being said, the animal interaction is nul. It's just simply not in the game at the moment. Generally all AI have the same behaviour, just different 'kill / ignore' parameters. Which are buggy as well. Even the camera you're playing with is buggy and extremely difficult to work with. If your graphic settings aren't on high then nighttime is a nightmare. Everything turns into a mess of green and it becomes completely impossible to move around in the world let alone distinguish plant from empty air. After saving a 4 hour long save file every time I try to spawn in Pachy swarm and kill me, even though they weren't there when I saved. It's also worth mentioning that just having this game loaded makes my computer constantly nonresponsive, even when parked in the main menu. And yeah... as the loading screen warns about... the game WILL crash within 2 hours or so... So once you begin playing, it completely becomes obvious as to why there were delays. This game was not ready to be shipped, and is absolutely walking the borderline on it being an 'actual' game.

Lets hope we see some fast improvements, and good content in the future.

Bugs and technical issues out right stop you from playing what you purchased without hours of attempted fixes. I tried to start up the game and a massively loud buzzing sound came through my head set. I found a fix for that. Then after that, the game was constantly freezing once every 5 seconds for about 10 seconds before I could click 'new game' on the title screen.

My specs are more than enough to run in, they just didn't create a stable game. These are common issues for a lot of the people who bought this game.

One rush later, my entire vault dies from tanky AF radroaches after hours of progress. Not a fan.

The AI is extremely funky, in a buggy sense. It's barely noticable until you try playing PROPER stealth maps. This down right narrows you into playing 'Loud' matches over and over again to enjoy the game [massive grind fest with dubstep]. Most of the time the stealth is smooth and good... good enough to build up your confidence and trust with the games mechanics... which is the exact thing that causes genuine mistakes or encourages the bugs to come out to ruin your effort. The amount of times, and the hours this game has wasted, being caused by a lowly gaurd catching an extremely brief wiff of my B.O. who immediately sprints off in a random direction spraying in the air or at you, instead of behaving normally [alerting the map and causing a restart of all your progress] or the game randomly spawning in gaurds and kiting them towards areas I've secretly placed bodies... has made me completely give up on considering stealth a core way to play the game. Yes, it's done for the grind [easier, more rewards, faster]. A lot of maps are easy to stealth. But the long term stealth maps are extremely unreliable and its partially the reason only 5% of the entire community bothers with PROPER stealth when you could be blasting some nice dubstep and getting the most out of your build and weapons.

I don't recommend this game because playing Loud quickly burns you out, and quickly makes the game feel pointless. After you try out most of the maps and get your jollies out of them you will learn that you're just doing the same thing over and over again to reach level 100, to do the exact same thing but without the sense of progress any more. It's easy to get a gun you're forever happy with and the only way to diversify your build these days is to buy DLC and unlock items and perk trees that way, which are only partially as viable as the main meta's.

Stealth... when it works and no gaurds see you through the walls as half their arms poke through cement layers trying to shoot you... always has a rush and a great sense of accomplishment every match. It's a shame the basic bugs, after all these years, haven't been fixed. But the reason for that is because most of the community just plays loud, especially newer players, and all of the DLC includes playstyles that are strictly 'loud'... so all the money is there.

I would recommend it if there were more of a sense of progress to make Loud playstyles feel worth while, there is no drive to log back in after you set yourself up. And I would easily try to share this with my friends if stealth were realistic and not so often just massive time sinks (gaurds spraying bullets and alerting the entire map the split second you're seen instead of behaving normally).

Everything down to hair color costs A LOT of real money... Community is dead...

Scummy, greedy developers that pushed away its own fan base

A great casual game with tonnes of fun and adreneline filled moments. Ranked is a whole new game, the teams are often extremely good and people work together seemlessly. As time has gone by, I've found that there are absolutely no 'broken' or 'over powered' champions, thanks to being forced to play them each a little bit before being allowed in Competetive matches. This game is, at the moment, perfectly balanced and in a really good place right now. You don't want to miss this one.

The only issue is that the developers are incredibly greedy. A majority of updates are just pumping out over priced purchasables after over priced purchasables, with some slight game changes trickling in. Thankfully, they come often enough where the game is always changing. Although there is always this thought at the back of your mind, slightly worrying about the precendent they're setting for gaming. They are far too greedy and should absolutely tone down the skins and focus on a lack of content and champions, which most people are complaining about in the reviews.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Saurian (a title of another game like this) does a far better job.

On top of being a low tier version of other games, every single server thats populated (only like 3 out of 200 actually have players in them) is run by teenager admins and ridiculous excuses for adults. It's an absolute cringe fest. The servers have rules against fighting. You get kicked and eventually banned if you fight people, even if you agree to it. Why? Because they like using their moderators powers. There is NO real reason. Every server is filled with mostly kids, that are all sitting around water sources infinitely fed that sit in global chat waiting for some of the most pathetic drama you'll ever see on the internet. The moderators, admins and owners of the server are particularly fond of it. Taking the stage and acting like they're famous. Dolling out punishments, warnings and perm bans for anyone who cramps their style in chat.

I personally have only been banned from one server, a long time ago. I've recently returned (August 2017) to find the community in the worst state it's ever been in. The game itself is completely unplayable. The admins and community itself have completely perverted the nature of this game and have totally ruined the developers vision of what its about. Instead of being a dino-simulator, people pick a dinosaur, walk for 5 minutes to a water spot and talk s**t in chat till they get booted. As someone who barely participates in chat and is forced to sit there and watch it, it's absolutely destroyed any potential this game has for me. It just attracts a very particular type of person, and those people are a foundation of a terrible community that in of itself has destroyed what ever this game could have been.

All that aside, there is no real gameplay, which goes hand in hand with the complaints I had above. After you have filled your thirst and hunger (which is extremely fast and easy) you've experienced all the content the game has to offer. Which is WHY people resort to griefing and lurking in global chat... Only certain people actually like that crap. And you don't want to be around those people for long.

Tutorial is overly slow and the is no general sense of what you're exactly doing. It's hard to tell if this is a random match making PvE style game or a defend-your-camp style game until you're an hour or two in. The sense of direction is scarce. I didnt want to sink hours into this only to find it didn't suit me at all, and wasn't what it appeared to be

Absolute garbage in every way. The Gods and race gameplay is awful and bare bones, there are literally 'gardens' that generate resources for you, all you need to do is choose which resource you want to be flooded with. This isn't creative thinking, it was a rushed effort.

The story mode is even worse...... its extremely short, you're looking at about 2 hours of content and instead of having any story there are some missions that are literally small open maps, no civilians, an army, and a giant slapwar between yours and theirs. No story AT ALL. These missions could've been made by rookie scenario creators.

JUST LOOK AT THE SCREEN SHOTS THEY POSTED ON THE STEAM PAGE. 4/5 of them are ONE map, they didn't even take the time to do that. This was entirely rushed and done cheaply.

A pathetic money grab, another exploitation of nostalgia
