I played the original Faith 1 & 2 off of Airdorf's itch.io page, and BOY am I glad I did. I was only slightly unprepared for this version, with specific things to hunt for. After completing the first two games in just over 8 hours, I'm now roughly 40% of the way through the third, MAYBE a bit more. If old-school horror is your thing, or if survival horror is up your alley... THIS TRILOGY is right for you. GET IT. GET IT NOW. There WILL be some frustrating sections, but overall... It's worth it. Only 4 achievements left to go after nearly 10.5 hours... and I'm guaranteed to only get three of them. That last one... is just straight NO... ^^;

An interesting experience, certainly. However...

The creator(s) may have wanted to make SOME of the NC-17 solutions LESS complicated. I'm trying to run off a walkthrough because i CAN NOT figure this out on my own, and the "I <3 NY" level's solution is SO LONG I got lost reading it out to myself... I'm not above having complicated puzzles in games. But sometimes, your solutions need to be less "Jason Vs Freddy on Murder Rampage" and more... "Freddy & Jason."

This game has a rather NASTY habit of spawning barricades right in your path on your way down from a jump, often using roll ramps with speed boost crates as an incentive to take a leap straight into a penalty. Your only alternative in most cases? hitting a barricade NEXT to the jump and taking a penalty anyways! And in the last thirty minutes before I dumped this game into my "Garbage" collection for good, it managed to get me on a perfect jump, then TURN ME AROUND the other way. In the second case of this, it also made my camera turn around, then start my car going the wrong way and... OFF THE LEVEL. No thanks. I'll be taking my game time elsewhere, thanks for nothing.

Apogee really needed to fix the controls for this port. When every single level is like playing on ice because the mouse movement CAN'T BE TURNED OFF AT ALL... It hampers the game and makes even easy mode a chore. No thanks.

I'd been excited for this game too... Not even going to waste my money on the remake from 2013, seen how broken and janky that game is.

Early Access Review
The game is very simple. What you see on the box i EXACTLY what you're getting. But beneath the surface layer of simplicity is an under-layer of gameplay that allows you to think on your toes to find the right tool for the job at hand... while also being able to switch your brain off for long stints and just relax with the ambient sounds of nature and splashing water or bubbling soap. This is a VERY relaxing experience, and VERY worth your price.

Several problems I've seen.

1: Easy mode is anything BUT easy. I get that it's supposed to limit how many purple tokens show up, but 9/10 times I make my first move and BAM, one of the girls is knocked out in a foul mood because something along the pipeline decided to set up a domino effect of purple tokens that hadn't even BEEN there. Also... it's EASY mode. Can we get some more helpful moves and matches to make? Same fraction of the time, I'm failing a date because the game gives me NOTHING to work with... AT ALL.

2: This nonsense of "TALK TO THE GIRLS TO UNLOCK ITEMS IN THE SHOP" is rubbish, especially comparing this to the original game, where the items randomly spawned in ALL THE TIME, regardless of whether you spoke to anyone past the first meeting or not. And the dev's announcement of "Not a bug, but a feature", sounds to me like we're gonna be seeing a repeat of EA's apology for "INNOVATING TOO MUCH" on the Dungeon Keeper remake a few years back.

Now for a positive: Where the original had almost no story (Sorry, Love Fairy wants to make you a super lady killer? Why? It's her job? How'd she get it?), this sequel has an OVERABUNDANCE of it. No Kyu, nor any of the special ladies from the first game, and only minimal involvement from the Cam Studios girls (Sorry, but you can't convince me that a baggie of COCAINE is a good idea to give as an ACCESSORY to ANYONE, let alone a cam girl). I enjoyed what little I played, but after hearing what the final boss segment is like? NO THANKS. I'm going back to solitaire; if I wanted HuniePop to gain Dark Souls mentality, I'd go find and play a Dark Souls Anime Dating Simulator. There HAS to be one by now.

Bottom line: The game has evolved too much in a short period of time, and tried to include too many features from other, bigger-named titles. I can't stand by this anymore. HuniePot Dev, if you read this... I'll continue playing HuniePop1 every now and again. Cam Studio repulsed me, and this one infuriated me. I'll stick to the original, thanks... and I won't be popping in for any of your future projects. It's been a blast... but I NEED to move on.

Received as part of a bundle, so I had zero expectations. I guess that was a good thing.

To any wandering in, if you enjoy a sense of not knowing where to go, what to do, or how to activate action prompts despite being told that only ONE BUTTON will activate said prompts... This is the game for you. There's a supposed message here, but with everything being STARK WHITE and melding together? I can't see it for the life of me.

To the devs... Maybe try tightening up the controls and making sure everything functions right first. When prompted with "I could run here", or "I could fly here", make sure the ONE BUTTON you set aside just for that function actually does what it's meant to when told "PRESS THIS BUTTON TO INTERACT". I'll be moving along now; got more stuff to try out in my library.

Personally speaking, I'm NOT AT ALL a fan of games made with a level design philosophy somewhere between Dark Souls and Satan's Left Testicle. I am fully aware and completely understand that the point of the game is to tell a story... but having the method of getting to the end of the game be based around THE MECHANICS OF A RAGE GAME? NO THANK YOU, PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Why in the HELL did I play this, instead of going for my intended idea of continuing to max out the achievements in PERSONA 5 INSTEAD?!?

I'm honestly not even sure if I SHOULD recommend this or not.

many a month ago, I was playing and attempting to do one of the girls' personal requests... and the enemy can MASSIVELY boost their stats and one-shot sweep my entire team. So I quit. I came back today and did some levelling up. Attempted it again... and once again, 1-shot sweep. I know I only gained a single level across all my characters, but STILL. I shouldn't need to grind so much, and the grind shouldn't take THIS DAMN LONG. If other games like Akiba's Beat and Final Fantasy can get the level grinding thing down and do it well, why can't this team? This game takes so long to go ANYWHERE because every boss you need to beat takes LOADS of extra levels just to put you NEARLY on par with it. Play at your own discretion, and make your own opinion. As for me... these girls are likely staying in hell forever, because the trek to get them where they need to go IS TAKING TOO DAMN LONG.

Paid full price for this, then sank in for the DLC. So far, I've played with a friend's invite 2 times, and with bots three. I attempted to go online and join a match, but 3 times out of 3 the game flat crashed and told me to contact the developers with the crash report. Well, here's your notice, devs, and there's no crash report attached.

UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THE EA MARKET MOVESET AND START MAKING SURE YOUR PRODUCTS ARE FULLY TESTED AND CLEARED OF ANY HICCUPS< BUGS, GLITCHES AND BREAKS THAT COULD OCCUR *BEFORE EVER RELEASING THE THING FOR ANY MONEY!* As is, this is ONLY playable when you have friends to invite you in. Otherwise... Don't bother. EVER.
