Cointains 4 Soundtracks (24th Jan. 2017)
No Shopkeeper Vocals included! Now it is in. ;)

3 Tracks for each level in Zone 5 and the new Boss!

I assume that more Zones and Tracks are following and DannyB won't disappoint. :D

Hand of Fate

I cannot remember when I had such amazing feelings in a Game.

GamePlay:
As always, I start with the gameplay-explanation...

You're sitting opposite to the Dealer (which is also the most important/interesting character in the game.) He is narrating the entire game with comments of your actions and happenings. You can hear his ironic gratulations on some success, but loves to see you suffer from curses. HOWEVER, he has a very limited amount of text and you will often hear the same things. Anyway he tries to keep the game fair and indeed I’ve never been treated such fair, yet challenging as in this game.

On the table, the dealer places chards, which should represent 1 layer of a dungeon. Your goal is to get to the last layer of the dungeon to challenge the Dealer's Champions. (12)
These cards on the table is made of your own created deck + the dealer's balancing cards to make it harder + locked cards, in your deck with Missions. You also decide which weapons, armor pieces, shields or artefacts you may get in this session. (2nd. deck)

You have food, which would heal you +6HP each new Tile/Card you step on, but without food you lose -6HP per Tile/Card.
Life points: 100 may get higher or lesser, depending of which Curses/blessing/missions you get.

Successfully Actions:
Some actions require “luck” (You choose out of four cards. These four cards can contain a “Huge Success”, ”Success”, ”Failure”, ”Huge Failure” which will decide if your action works or not.
The four cards are open at the beginning, then get turned around and put together to one pile. Keep an Eye on it. If you are looking closly, you can see where which cards is. Sounds cheating? Well the Dealer knows how to prevent and shuffles it up to five times and sometimes too fast to follow…

Your equipment slots:
Helmet (max. 1 piece)
Chest plate (max. 1 piece)
Weapon (max. 1 piece)
Gauntlet (max. 1 piece)
Rings (infinite amount wearable)
Artefacts (max. 1 piece)
Curses/Blessings (infinity amount wearable)

The fighting is simple made.
  • 3D
  • No own Camera movement!
  • Aiming enemies with left joystick. (No mark on enemies)
  • Small fighting Areas. (Also trap areas with no enemies)
  • Many pictures on the steam store page depict that!

Control: PS - Controller
Square|Attack - With your Sword, Ax, Hammer or misc...
Circle|ShieldBash - Breaks through enemies' shield. (Shield required)
Triangle|Counter - Counter ranged-attacks or many melee-attacks. (Shield required)

This is the Gameplay. On my opinion, these mix of Card-Game and 3rd-Person fighting is really well fitting.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ :D

Story:
The story is to defeat the dealer, which is accessible after you fought his 12 Champions!

Graphics:
I am not such person who things graphic is an important point. I enjoyed it and no eye cancer!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Leveldesign:
I split this up in:

DungeonLevelDesign: Which is at the beginning of the game very tiny, but later on, when you suffer from starving, you are happy to get a smaller area. (Random generated) which leads to very different playthroughs.

Fighting/trap Areas:
They are not random. If you are fighting in an inn, you will get and inn-Area, and so on...

Don't forget the endless mode where you fight until your death. (Did play it one time and wanted to star after defeating the Game.)

All in one this combination makes the game very interesting and the random dungeon makes every step a hope for nothing bad.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Music:
Of course, I am also rating the music, which is in my ears simply amazing. <3
Totally love the Battle/Dealing/Reward Music. The man did a well job. :D
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Bossfight:
Mostly I like the Boss fights. They were somewhat fair to me except for the Dealer Boss fight, who spawns all his Champions as a triple pack (Jack, Lady, King). However, this is the good part, because it is still fair to fight. HOWEVER, when the dealer starts to make Explosions or light currents on the ground that are not dodge able, because you have to know where to stand, otherwise it WILL hit you. No escape. this is the only issue, which made me aggressive to die so close at the end. However, the victory felt more deserved than in Dark Souls III. ;)
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ just for the little issue. :/

This was quite everything I have to tell you.
I beat the game in approximately 13h.

The last I want to recommend you is to read also negative Reviews. Even if they are not marked as "helpful", but they may contain things that are crucial to know before you buy the Game.
The 25€ I spend on this Game was totally worth for me. Would pay the same amount of money again.

EPIC GAME: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★!

Super Hexagon

It is one of the first in it's genre and also the best.

GamePlay:
The control of this game just needs to press 2 Buttons. ←,→ or LeftMouse, RightMouse;
The Game is very simple, yet challenging.. The name already tells us that this game has to do with hexagons and yes. You're playing a triangle which moves in circles around a hexagon, trying to avoid the bar comming from outside to the middle. The first Level is a bit special, because the hexagon turns into a Square and back.
Anyway, I suppose more than 4 points isn't possible. :/
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Graphics:
hmmmm... Simple... and perhaps you feel like the 3rd Level is on LSD.^^ But all in one this graphic fits to the game.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Leveldesign:
As I've already mentioned it, e.g. the first Level has the Square-Special-Thing, many Levels have different stuff to offer. The 3rd Level has a quick 180° turn, which is quite confusing if you're not common with that.^^

Something which is impossible to avoid, is to memories some patterns of certain level. Which pattern appears is random, but they look always the same and of course it's a useful skill to win. :)

After you've got 60 sec. on a level the level changes from: Lvl1 -> Lvl4, Lvl2 -> Lvl5, Lvl3 -> Lvl6,
Lvl4 -> Lvl4(Special), Lvl5 -> Lvl5(Special), Lvl6 -> Lvl6(Special) [Note: A Special Level is the part after 60 sec of a certain Level beyond 3!]
After 120 sec. the Level changes again and so on.
(e.g. If you start at Lvl1 -> Lvl4 -> Lvl4(Special) -> Lvl5 -> Lvl5(Special) -> Lvl6 -> Lvl6(Special)

So you see they prevent an repetition by changing the levels.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Music:

Music:
First the music was not my taste. After playing longer and longer, it get better and better. So at the end I really liked the music.^^ A bit weird, isn't it?
The Game contains 3 ½ Soundtrack. Each Lvl pair 1-4,2-5,3-6 have one and the ending song which is actually a reversed version of the last one. That's why I wrote ½. :p

btw: After you finish the 6th Level (get 60 sec.) you've beaten the game and when you die, a kind of credits appear. The game plays the music of the last Level reversed and the bars now came out of the hexagon. It was an amazing feeling and of course a awesome ending.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

At the end, i think it's worth to buy Super Hexagon. Makes fun. Cheap. Challenging.
Sadly just 4/5 Points... :/

Out There Somewhere

It's a small game, but bunch of Fun you'll have. :)

GamePlay:
The gameplay is as simple as the game is and yet sometimes challenging. At the beginning you'll have no weapon, which will change very soon till you get a teleport gun!

Teleporter gun: You can shoot with this gun and the time it hits an object you'll teleport to this point. Anyway this is just the half impressive part of it, because you can jump and while you're moving upward you can teleport yourself, but the physic of moving upward keeps. This is the part where it becomes a bit tricky to time you shoots.

Normal gun: Additional to the telegun you'll also receive a normal gun to shoot enemies. If you acquire the additional upgrade you'll shoot faster and deadlier which makes the run way easier.

This is the Charakter Gameplay. There are also objects in the world which tries to build up riddles for you. ;)
I love the idea. <3 (One point loss because it's really short 1h 20min. first run. :/ I wish I could be longer)
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Graphics:
The graphics is a pixelstyle and not very impressive.^^ It looks very nice, but I just cannot give all points!
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Story:
The Story is also well made. "Brevity is the soul of wit!" this is something fitting to its story. It's indeed not very long, probably because of the length of the game, but you don't forget storypart which confuse you in futher progress.

I really liked it. With some nice Cutscenes and dialogue.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Leveldesign:
If you want all Achievements then you should know that you have to visit (nearly) every screen in this game. literally!
There are screens with no name and you'll have to see them to get the 107% Achievement. (I think it's pretty obvious why it's called 107%. :p)
The normal screens are well created to make puzzles, as I've said it befor. ↑ up there ↑
I don't see any reason to give less than the max. points.^^
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Music:
My favorite part of any game with good music recommendation. <3 Well, this game contains so many good soundtracks. I nearly love all of them and for a good reason. If you wanna take a look at the main Theme: Menu Theme
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

The summary is, I would buy it again and the most time it is in sale for less than 30c. xD Get it. It's worth to play!

Legend of Grimrock

My first Dungeon Crawler I've ever played and I have to admit it makes much more fun as I've thought while I saw a little part of a Let's Play.
GamePlay:
The Game is in 3D but you can only move ion tiles and turn 90° around. (except for the free mouse view)
Move: w,a,s,d as you know it from the most games.
q,e for turning 90° left or right.
Your party is made out of 4 individual made Characters.
2 Front Row - advantage: Melee attacks reach the enemies; disadvantage: Take the hits of front attacks.
2 Back Row - advantage: Save for front attacks, may get hits from back or side attacks; disadvantage: cannot reach the enemy with melee weapons. (Of course there are some exceptions)
You can choose between different breeds which have their own benefits and these players can be signed as: Mage, Warrior, Rogue - to gain skills of their speciality.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Graphics:
Looks in my opinion fairly nice. No complain!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Story:
hmmm... Not really an impressive story. Get thrown into a Mountain and you have to escape...
The helping "thing" in the dreams and all the notes of toorum makes it a bit more interesting.
★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

Leveldesign:
It is impressive to see that they got 71 secrets on 13 different Levels. I didn't get even 50 at my first playthrough. As I said, Impressive work. Nice riddles...
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Music:
Well... the theme Music at the Menu is amazing. <3 But the whole game has no other soundtrack, at least no soundtrack I've heard... Not even the Boss has one and that was a bit disappointing. Still 4 Stars for that amazing Menu Music!
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

All in one it was a bunch of fun I had with this Game, even it was sometimes pretty unfair. :<
Well... Doesn't matter. This deserven a ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ rating from me. Well done!

Crypt of the NecroDancer

A little pixel Game I saw on a friends PC. I was a bit suspicious about that, but now I really like it.

GamePlay:
You control a little man/woman, depending on who you play. The only keys you have to press are ↑ , ↓ , → , ←.
Sounds simple and not very exciting, but the most interesting part is, that you have to press them in the right rythm.^^
Listen to the music in the background may helps.
This is still not all. Every Enemy in the game also moves in this rythm and they have some patterns.
(e.g Blue Slime: Moves one block up, skips a beat and then moves one block down.)
This is one of the simplest patterns. Others have patterns with no set directions and they'll try to get you.
Additional to that enemies may have some special attacks. (e. g Red Dragon: when you are in the same horizontal line the dragon will spit fire that deals damage to the entire horizontal line.)
Items also exist which helps you to fight against enemies.
Not to forget, other characters, other kinds of this gameplay. ;)
Sometimes it's very challanging, even with the "Bard", where you have no rythm and the enemies move after you. Simple amazing idea!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Graphics:
This is the part where I want to remove a Point. It is a PixelGame (and I like it), but I think it could be better. So just
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Story:
Ähh... Well, even you may miss the story, because you try to finish the first floor 100 Times, I think it was something about saving someone... No Rating for no Knowledge.^^
Music:
I always love to make that catigorie, because I just use it in 2 different cases: Good Music or Horrible Music and I think you would guess correctly that this Music-based Game has a nice soundtrack.
Even the Shopkeeper sings. :D
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Worlddesign:
It has a simple block design as simply as you can make Maps on your own. Not really special. The different types of Levels makes it not so repetitive, but I won't make any rate about this.

Just saw it on sale for ~4€? :o I would say, get it, it's worth the money and even if you have no fun with this, you may refund the game and do like nothing happend. :)
I hope you have as much Fun as I have.

Tower Of Elements

Short Game - Short Review
I got this as a present and I have fun with it.

Gameplay:
Simple and Minimalist!
On the left side you have:
A - To destroy red Goblins
S - To destroy green Goblins
D - To destroy blue Goblins

On the right side you have:
J - To destroy blue Goblins
K - To destroy green Goblins
L - To destroy red Goblins

So the controls are mirrored... That causes some confusion.
This is the whole GamePlay. You can upgrade your tower or choose between different mages. However this doesn't changes anything about the game's difficult.

I personally like this GamePlay. It's challenging in some way.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Graphic:
Simple Pixel-Game. The Mage you control will "teleport" to the left or right side and you just see how the goblins fall flat.

To much Pixel.
★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆

Story:
There is non. Well... Defeat the Tower!
(No rating because it's not there)

Music:
I'm one of these players who like to listen good music while playing games. This Game has indeed a great Soundtrack. Nothing to complain.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

So my final rating is ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆. The WinterSale Price of 49c is a great offer.
1,99€... Maybe wait for some discounts.

Dead Island

This game is a typical Zombie-slaughter-game. This could be a bit repetitive or not... Depending on you.
I thing it was fun to play and I like to fight with swords like you'll do the whole game. :D

Gameplay:
It's a very simple gameplay.
Melee Weapens: Left Mouse - Attack | Right Mouse - Prepare to throw | (RM) + Left Mouse - throw the weapen.
Guns : Left Mouse - Shoot | Right Mouse - Aim
Other attacks: E - kick | Jump + E - Stronger kick that definitely knocks (normal) Zombies down.
Dodge : Left/Right/Back + Jump

These functions are for everyone same. Their strength depending on the skills of each "class"!
There are 5 different (Classes) Persons you can play. Everyone can skill different things and they all have special rage-modes.

As I already said, it's a simply gameplay, but I had a lot of fun and also played this game 6h without break... So I like it.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Graphic:
It doesn't look bad. Sometimes a bit to detailed, but I saw the Dead Island 2 teaser and this looks like a pure splatter ...
One thing is strange. The NPCs run like they have ♥♥♥♥ in their pans. :-|
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Story:
The story is pretty long. I took me 30h to complete the game. To write something of interest for you, it was all in one a good story with some twists.
Some of the Charakters were funny. (Sam B's talking)
I have nothing to complain.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Leveldesign:
You'll get across 4 big areas compareable to the 4 chapters.
- Beach/Hotel
- Town
- Jungle
- Prison

Was nice. Open-World and easy to remember.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Balanced:
The game tries to balance the enemies no matter which lvl difference each player has.
E.g: Player lvl 40 deals 1000 dmg to a zombie same lvl(40), Another player lvl 10 deals 100 dmg to the same zombie.
Both players did the same percentage of dmg (let us say 50%)

This Online-combat-balance-system is a bit confusing at the beginning but very helpful for the low lvl player.

Now we continue with the enemy balance. There are different enemies (more than 4 kinds of Zombies and also humans). I recommend to use a gun to kill humans, otherwise you'll get killed...
About the Zombies. Some have more and less HP and only melee combat will be a pain against some Zombies. So any ranged weapon will make your fight by far easier. (I have to add, that one kind of Zombie will explode at their death. That means you'll die if you've only melee-combat)

btw: There are areas with an infinite Zombie Spawn. -> bad idea.

★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆

This was everything I wanted to rate. Last but not least I would give ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ for the whole game.
I hope you'll have as much fun as I had.

The Last Door: Collector's Edition

Long time ago, I saw a LP of the browser game. Basically my main language isn't english, but the LPer did a great job by translating the text.

Gameplay:
Like a normal Point'n'Click Adventure. Some nice riddles about what should be combined to make it useful.
I'm not a fan of Point'n'Click Adventures, so I just give 4/5 Stars.
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Grafik:
With that kind of graphics the game looks very mysterious and a bit creepy. The best thing is that the dev don't have to struggle to make a fitting face, because the face just has 4 pixels.^^ The most things you'll see are not identifiable, but the protagonist says what it is and you head does the rest.

In my opinion perfect graphics for an Point'n'Click adventure!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Story:
As I already mentioned it, my main language isn't english and I had some problems with words I've never heard before. So the google translator & and english - german book helped very much, but this is not the right part to rate this. The most of the story is mysterious and beyond my mind. I'm really speechless and recommend it for everyone who loves mystery stories. The Ideas are great and combined with some creepy moments it's by far the best story I've seen. Respect for such a creative dev (or devs, if there are more than one). I would like to give more than 5 stars but thats not possible.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

language:
This game just have english and also not an easy english you would understand after 8 years of school. They used many words I didn't even know that such words exists, but it's nice to broaden one's horizon. Maybe some translations would be nice, but I think this destroys the feeling of the game. English is a pretty nice language.:)

That's all I wanted to say and the game deserves my rating of ★ ★ ★ ★ ★.
According to the community i saw that 2016 the 2nd session of this game is going to be published. :D I'll buy this within year 2015 and I'll test the 1 chapter in early access. Cannot wait anymore.
