Access violation? If so it's due to your ATI drivers. A very well known issue (and addressed on the store page btw) is that ATI drivers are awful when it comes to OpenGL games, and as a result sometimes you have to try different driver versions till you find one that works. It is not the game's fault.

To quote an engine developer: "Clean commands are sent to the driver, then ATI mangles them."
