Great with the 7 days VR mod. Huge maps, tons of looting, exploration, crafting and you can basically generate more maps any time.

This is after the Open World update which basically recreated the game as a huge open map with missions and lots of side quests. The devs have improved on the mechanics a ton, guns feel good, inventory feels good, movement fells good.
The map is huge and looks really good once you up the settings with a good rig. My system lets me max it out and it looks great for such a huge world.

Updated: after trying again with Quest 3 and I've played much more of the game, it's a huuuuuuuge open world. It's not just the city you see in the vids, but a massive countryside of hills, valleys and rivers and lakes with missions reaching out to these far off areas. For a smaller dev team it's very impressive. Tons of gun unlocks and attachments to buy and add on as many as you want after reaching certain mission levels and gaining enough cash through the tons of side missions. The side missions can become repetitive, but there's such a variety of locations, you just want to keep going for more money.
The movement lets you run around on the ground, jump up walls and buildings, climb where you would expect to be able to climb. Lots of rooftop action too.
Much props to the devs.

Awesome game, tons of world to explore, tons of missions and locations to visit. It's BL2, so of course. There are some wonky controls because it's a port from a flat game, but with the amount of content, it's very excusable. Wish I would have picked it up sooner.

If you're on a Quest/Q2, some are having problems launching the game. Start your Link/Airlink into Oculus PC/Rift home. Then on the Rift menu bar, go to the desktop view so you can see your monitor in VR, then just open Steam and Start BL2VR from your Steam library. DON'T start it from the Oculus PC/Rift home Recents or Library, even though there is a BL2VR icon that looks like it would launch it.

Playing in VR mode and it's pretty cool to be in the shoes of 47. Using Quest 2 with Air Link and no issues running it or doing the tutorial missions so far. Now, to be honest there are many fixes that IOI can make to the VR controls. Roomscale needs to be fixed, the head and body should be connected and move together. The body kind of goes on its own and has to be recentered frequently. Movement direction (I use hand/controller oriented direction because of motion sickness with head oriented, so thanks for including that) can sometimes wander with the body and not be straight until you recenter. Grabbing objects is very finicky and has to be done in just the right spot if there are multiple items. The two handed guns are on somewhat of a virtual stock that sticks to your shoulder, I would rather have free aim with both hands, like most VR shooters do. See Onward for the best tactical weapon controls.
They did include VR comfort options, which is huge considering some VR devs leave many of them out. They do need to add a lefty option, even though I don't use it, some do.
I would say its playable if you want to work with the controls as is, but I'm sure there will be updates to iron out the kinks as they become more experienced with VR and figure out how to convert the control schemes.
Glad to have a big game with lots of content for VR.

The game really gives you a lot of tools and options for tackling missions, but doesn't hold your hand other than showing you what you have and how to use it in a well done tutorial. I like that the mission objectives are given, the location on the map and you have to find your own way to get there, and make it back in some nail biting search and retrieve scenarios. Well thought out strategies for taking on everything from the enemies, to environmental dangers, to survival needs. Very stalker-esque world.

I play mostly on Quest 2 and this is the best VR flight combat sim. Great planes, missions, upgrades, and the feeling of control in the various levels of realism are great. The devs did a great job making it feel both comfortable and responsive with the control options.

Big battles over territories on big maps. Really feels like you're in the middle of a battlefield with your soldiers. Both sides going back and forth moving their front to try to overtake the other.
Also throws in some fun stealth missions. Maps are big and open and let you plan your own strategies.
This dev is always working to improve every aspect of the game and takes all feedback.
