One of the greatest CRPGs ever made, not just in modern years.

Top-tier classical RPG with great gameplay, characters, story, and magic. A very rich world for a one-off standalone fantasy game with a good setting and interesting premise.

One of the best games I have ever played. There's no way we got a game this good in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2017, and yet we did. Don't go into this game expecting some generic space boomer shooter, because it's far from it. Much like the original Deus Ex - it's not a top-tier shooter, top-tier stealth game, or top-tier RPG, but it uses all of those mechanics (and much more) in a very good way. It's more like a first-person, sci-fi, survival adventure with highly emergent gameplay. That being said, you can totally play this game like a basic shooter if you want to - just as long as you build your character that way. There are so many creative ways you can get through the game, with lots of cool builds, powers, weapons (most of them are more like tools), and there's a lot of depth to the levels with many options and paths you can take.
Unfortunately there are a lot of long loading screens in-between levels and I feel like it could have been more seamless in some places.

Still, the game has hardly any flaws (except for a few really gay story details) and it's worth every single minute spent outside of loading screens.

It definitely has problems, but I think there is a fun and well-crafted game underneath it. If you buy this, I am pretty sure that you will enjoy it, at least until you've replayed all of the levels and you realize there's nothing really new.
Also; the class abilities are super f-cking boring.
Psyker: Release a harmless shockwave and reduce your warp buildup by only 50%!
Ogryn: Bull charge the enemies
Zealot: Bull charge the enemies (but with your weapon)
Sharpshooter: Shoot more accurate and harder for 5 seconds
wow, bob, wow! borderlands could never compete...

My favorite map in Black Ops 3. It doesn't overwhelm your senses like Shadows of Evil does, and there's always so much you can do and interact with in the map.

Campaign is awful, but at least it has co-op and some unlocks (camos, reticles, etc.) Multiplayer wasn't very fun because it has so much jumping around, and there are exclusive guns which you have to grind for hundreds of hours to get enough RNG luck for, or buy COD points, because that's really the only realistic way you're gonna get them. So aside from all of the cool little extra modes and whatnot, what do we have left?
Oh yes...
Zombies.
It is very good, includes several platinum-tier maps like Zetsubou no Shima, Gorod Krovi, and Der Eisendrache, as well as a sort-of remake of Der Riese from World at War. I haven't played Revelations (yet) so I can't speak for that, but it also includes this absolutely overrated dogsh*t headache of a map called Shadows of Evil. There's too much going on in the environment that it just gives you a f*cking headache after twenty minutes, the beast mode is awful and tedious, and the gameplay in the level is boring and annoying. The characters are good though, and the idea of the setting is great, but God it sucks to play. Learn it, play it, and leave it forever.

BUT... then we got Zombies Chronicles. Eight remasters of seven good-great maps (f*ck Moon), such as Nacht, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Kino der Toten, Shangri-La, Ascension, and most importantly, motherf*cking Origins. In total, that's way more maps than we ever get in any one zombies experience, and DID I MENTION, THERE ARE AWESOME CUSTOM MAPS YOU CAN DOWNLOAD TOO??? WITH OFFICIAL WORKSHOP SUPPORT EVEN!!! The replayability is simply endless, and there are loads of weapon mods on top of that as well.
There is also, for the first time, weapon progression in Zombies. So you can unlock weapons and level them up the more you kill with them. And I mean unlocking weapons, as in unlocking the ability to customize and level them up. The gun customization is very cool, and there are lots of different and cool camos, as well as loads of reticles for your sights. Every attachment you put on your gun is physical and very visible on it. In zombies/campaign, you get five slots for attachments and an exclusive slot for your sights. In multiplayer you have the pick 10 class system so it's basically pointless.
But... how are the guns themselves? Hoooo boy.

They are horrible. Statistically they are good, but visually? Audibly? A tragic disappointment. I could go over every gun one by one, but there are way too many. Roughly 95% of the guns are really ugly, totally uninspired ""futuristic"" sh!t with lots of gimmicks and moving parts, they are mostly way too big and bulky too. And even though they are supposed to be futuristic, they all function pretty much the same as the guns from year 2025. You have your copyright-free AK and Armalite variants, which haven't changed in any meaningful ways at all (but the M4 (ICR-1) is an insanely good gun holy sh!t). The foregrips on the guns mostly all look like they belong in the 1960's but way uglier and bulkier. The laser sight on one of the pistols is bigger than a LAM unit on the H&K MK23, and we're supposed to believe these are futuristic weapons. You have your MP5 equivalent (the same except ugly as f*ck), your P90 equivalent, MP7, and a few super ugly bullpup SMGs. Your Remington tube-fed pump-action shotgun, which is absolutely ret@rded to have in the future, as well as a lever-action shotgun which is even dumber, but at least it has a magazine. Thankfully, there is also one semi-auto and one full-auto mag-fed shotgun, so that's good. The LMG's are mostly typical modern guns, but one has a six-round burst, another fires slower than a pistol, and yet another one has a stupid-looking barrel magazine. But the worst offenders, I think, are the futuristic M1 Garand and MP40 remakes. Good God, they are just offensive to anyone who has any respect for firearms. Technologically and aesthetically speaking.
It makes you wonder if they just designed the guns with "WOAH COOL FUTURISTIC*!!" in mind, instead of actually coming up with inventive or creative firearms that fit the setting.

Anyways, buy it for Zombies, disregard the rest. 6/10 overall.
