TL;DR If you want a casual kart game where you hold accelerate for the entire race, and just want to matchmake into races one-at-a-time, then tbh this game's all yours.

Anyways, to get on with it; the game itself isn't bad per-se, it's mostly just either not for me, or I'm too old to get fortnite-style gameplay & matchmaking, but one of the immediately dissonant parts of this game is that the skill-ceiling for the (optional) tutorial, of all things is extremely high, yet as stated above, to win a race you just have to get lucky with items & hold accelerate for the entire race.
Ironically, for a game advertising itself for it's drifting in the title, drifting in game is hilariously useless at best, to absolutely detrimental to your race at worst. Putting aside the fact that in almost any other kart game, drifting (and drift boosting) is simply the act of holding the drift button for a set amount of time, and then releasing to get a boost. In this game, however, you have to: 1: press the drift button to be sent into drift mode, 2: correct your steering in slippery mode, 3: stop accelerating after the game has decided you're arbitrarily no longer drifitng 4: re-hold down the gas, all for a half-second boost that brings you back to normal driving speed. All while watching everyone pass you because they just drove through the turn like a normal person, it's almost hilariously unrewarding.
But anyways onto the next gripe: for a game with randomized itemboxes, there's weirdly just NO item scaling? You can be in first with a boost & the anti-first-place item in hold & be set for life, or be stuck in last getting banana after banana.
A lot of other reviews are complaining about requiring a Nexon(or other secondary account) to log in, something required of almost any other Nexon game I've heard of? I don't really see the issue there, personally, but other complaints are calling the game "pay to win" when the only thing you can buy is the premium battle pass which gets you.... Skins & in-game currency? Wow, so much of a benefit over F2P players.
On the topic of winning, as said in the beginning of the review, all you need to do to win (in every mode for some reason) is hold accelerate & get lucky item rng. Even in the random teams/duo modes you can get matchmade into, there's oddly no concern with how the entire team did, in adding up points, but instead it's JUST whichever team had the player that game in first. Real good incentive to actually take part in teamplay.
Finally, I just personally feel that the game's present matchmaking being that you load into one random race, play for 1-2 minutes, and then get kicked back to menu without further matchmaking, or staying in the lobby creates an annoyingly long amount of downtime between actual gameplay.
OH yeah just as an addendum, voice chat is immediately enabled with absolutely no existence of push to talk. Weird, but if you're in for the type of CoD lobby environment, in the event that people aren't just muted, then by all means enjoy.
For my closing thoughts, even though the game is honestly perfectly fine for anyone looking for a casual game like this to take up 12 GB of your hard drive space, but it could use some polish regarding the issues above, and then I might personally consider looking at it again.

tl;dr 2: Just play SRB2Kart, it's got all of your favourite sega characters (+ miku & doomguy) in one sick community-run doom mod.

Game has a lot of potential, with interesting obstacles, and abilities. Just sucks that I can't play due to my potato battery of a laptop only getting 1-5 fps (10 fps on main menu/courses without obstacles) where controls both lag and become completely unresponsive.

7/10 would drive straight into easily avoidable wall as nightrider due to my 2x1 lego piece sized arrow keys either sending too much of a response, or none at all again.

"...'cuz at the end of the day, 'long as there's two people left on the planet; SOMEONE is gonna want SOMEONE dead." ~The Sniper

Pretty much explains the PvP mode. No matter how peaceful they look, or how peaceful you look, you'll just have bullet in your cranium, and a salty mood from it. Why people shoot? Bandits, bandits, scared people, little kids, and did I mention bandits? While the actual game is good, and decent, intuitive, and actually fun on occasions. Unless you have a friend to play with, you'll just end up dead, and looted. You might be saying: "Well if you don't want people shooting you, play PvE!" I'd respond to you: That's boring, laggy, and too easy, besides, people still kill you with exposives or by blowing up your car.

I'd play it with friends, or whatever. 6.35/10

Oh! I forgot to mention; There's an item drop system now with boxes you pay to open now!

This is where I'd put my Lambda Locator acheivement... IF I COULD FIND THE SOLITARY CACHE I'M MISSING!

Otherwise a good game to play when nothin' better to do. Nowadays just used as mounting for other games.

Gud sequel to Portal, with a dingus & cynical bish for comic-relief. Added multi-player & hats to play with friends. Also user-made levels that let you try your hand at making one.

Pros:
+comic relief
+good replayability
+consice in-game tutorial
+ sciency names
+good user-created levels

Cons:
-may-mays made from it
-user-created levels that are over-complicated/ untested/ are glitchable
-still no cake

Afternote: really fun, but slightly over-rated. Could have used cake

Pros:
+replayability
+fun to play when you're out, but need to conserve battery life
+samba radio

Cons:
-GlaDos' a bish
-may-may about cake

Afternote: I got nuthin.
