This is not new for FPS games, even those old MOH games I mention. But if you go back to those old games, it was tonally cohesive. As your feats as a soldier become more and more ludicrous, so do the enemies and the plot. In Medal of Honor Allied Assault you go from a reenactment of Saving Private Ryan at the opening, to sealing a freaking HO 229. At the same time, your enemies go from realistically portrayed German soldiers to a comically evil SS officer. There is a certain tongue-in-cheek humor there, so while the plot becomes ludicrous, you don't care because of how it was presented. The developers seem to be aware of this and are simply having fun presenting the game to the audience.
And since the Warsaw Uprising is universally remembered as the most tragic event in Polish history, calling the game 'too serious' is quite ridiculous. That's like playing a video game about 9/11 and complaining that it was too serious and didn't have enough jokes... Bruh. Please try to be less dumb and less culturally insensitive next time.
Also, not every game about Nazis has to be a sci-fi comedy the way Wolfenstein was... why are you so mad about a *serious* approach to the topic of Nazi occupation?
