Only 2 costumes for 10$ in a singleplayer game. And they are not even that great. I can find a tailor who'd make me those costumes in real life for twice the amount. Probably the most overpriced DLC i ever owned. Totally not worth it.

Early Access Review
Bot Colony is an ambitious title, maybe even too ambitious for what it's worth. So far, playing it is more of a struggle than entertainment...

I am aware that Bot Colony is an Early Access Game, but still, this build is not playable by far. I'm afraid i wouldn't even be wrong if i would say that there is literally almost nothing in Bot Colony that works as it should... Let's start with the game's motto: "The Game You Speak With". This is the main reason why anybody would pay attention to it, but unfortunately in the end the player will find out that this is actually "The Game Which Doesn't Understand You". That's it. I've said it. Natural language understanding is just not ready to be implemented in a game. It wil get you right about one time out of ten. Other then that you'll get replies like "I don't know what you mean".

Leaving Natural language understanding aside, the game is also full of bugs and glitches. Most players will give up on Bot Colony during the tutorial. It took me about 15 tries and a terrible headache to do it. It was a bit funny at the beginning watching the robot do some crazy stuff, like picking up 2 chairs at once and not being able to get rid of them or make the flower vase levitate above the table, but it was becoming more and more annoying with every step i was advancing through the game. I've also lost connection to the server several times while playing getting the message "Waiting for the robots to wake up", not even mentioning the amount of times i received the reply "Let me think" after giving the robot a command, just so that after 30 second he'll come back with "I don't know what you mean".

Without any doubt it had some promising perspectives and with a lot of more work, time and money it could've moved the adventure genre to a whole new level, but i'm afraid that's all what's gonna be left of it since the developers already pulled the plug on Bot Colony and the servers will be dead on March 15, leaving the game unplayable.

The Art of Playing is a short documentary which tries to offer a meaningful view on indie game development in in a very limited time and ultimately fails to provide anything substantial...

The movie features short interviews / opinions from people occupying different positions inside the indie development world, however, unfortunately, most of the provided information feels undeveloped and unessential.

Lastly, this movie uses streaming instead of download, which is obviously a Beta feature of Steam. I started watching it in 1080p, after 3 minutes the video froze and the audio kept going, i tried again, and guess what ? same thing... Then i switched to 720p, this time i started having ocasional freezes for both audio and video, only for milliseconds, but it was still disturbing, so i switched to 540 which finally played just fine. And i have a 100 MB broadband connection so this is obviously not due to a poor internet connection... Just in case anybody is wondering - there are also no subtitles available whatsoever...

If you're very curious you can give it a try since "The Art of Playing" is free to watch, however sometimes the time spent on a certain product is more then enough as payment...

The Detail is a crime noir point-and-click adventure game which manages to fascinate the player by offering a well written story, multiple playable characters and interesting choices which influence the storyline.

Episode 1 has 3 playable characters: Reggie - a veteran detective, Joe - a reformed criminal trying to protect his family and escape from his dark past, and Kate - a rookie police officer who happen to be in the wrong place in the wrong time. And it all starts with detective Reggie investigating a brutal murder...

Great graphic novel visual style, decent soundtrack, and intriguing mature story. That's what The Detail has to offer.

It takes about an hour and a half to finish the first episode, but you can also squeeze about 4 hours out of it if you plan on going for 100% achievements, at least that's how long it took me. I consider it to be priced quite fairly, 6$ for an episode is a reasonable price, however i wish there would have been an option to pre-purchase the entire season, instead of being forced to buy each episode separately.

The Detail turned out to be exactly what i expected from it, and managed to draw me into it. Now i'm waiting anxiously for the next episode.

Last Inua disappointed from the very first minute i bought it.

Upon starting the game first of all i noticed the cheap menu of an iOS port, but that's fine, it's not like i got it for the menu. Next, i see my game is in Russian. Developer says : "The game's language is determined by the language you machine is set in." My OS in actually in English, but who cares... There are indeed no language settings whatsoever, as well as no graphic ones. Only Continue, New Game, Controller Preset, Window Mode, Exit. That's the whole menu. And i don't know about the other translations, but the Russian one is definitely not well done, since i've noticed multiple words spelled together. Again, lazy iOS port.

Despite of other reviewers saying it has an interesting story, i'll say it's boring. The gameplay is linear, and puzzles are very simple. You control two characters, the Father and the Son, each having specific abilities. The Father can jump, destroy ice boulders and climb, while the Son can teleport through some magical read beams and sometimes create a temporal path between two obstacles. And that's it. You need to do what you need to, when you need to. No room for imagination in those fairly simple maps... In some maps, there is even en exact pattern by which you need to move the characters, and by doing it wrong i got stuck a few times being unable to continue. Naturally, i killed the character intentionally so can can start over, but imagine my surprise when i got revived in the same spot where i was stuck. To get over it i had to kill a character various times in different location before i was able to restart from an earlier point. And lastly, the controls are also imprecise. Jumping is a pain in the ass, and when using the Son to create a temporal path, it will sometimes leave a gap in it, and since the characters are moving automatically on it, they will sometimes fall and die.

Better save your money and get Never Alone instead of this cheap and lazy iOS port...

Murdered: Soul Suspect is the game where walking through walls and objects is no longer a bug but a feature.

First of all you should realize that this game is basically split 50-50 between gameplay and cut scenes. If feels more like watching a movie than playing a game. You get to play as detective Ronan O’Connor. Objective - solve your own murder, and save the terrorized Salem from The Bell Killer. Murdered: Soul Suspect offers a compelling story with several twists, and manages to entertain till the very end. There are also some side quests you can complete by helping several ghost you'll encounter during the game. These ones are optional, but are recommended to complete in order to get a better perspective of the game and your detective skills, especially since the main story is quite short. If you decide to buy it i would advice not to put much hope in the gameplay. It's quite repetitive - explore the location, gather clues on the case, escape the demons, watch the cut scene, and over again...

Overall, it somehow felt intriguing and mysterious, also quite different from most of the adventure games i've played. However, even after the recent price cut from $50 to $30 i still find it a bit overpriced and would recommend to get it on sale since it's too short, and has almost no replayability value, except if you're an achievement hunter and would need to play it a second time to get the ones you've missed.

Be aware that so far only 2 episodes out of 4 are available. The 3rd episode is supposed to be released in January 2015 & the 4th about June 2015.

I should start with the fact that initially i gave this game a negative review. AR-K was a total mess at launch; there were lots of glitches & bugs...BUT it changed a lot since then. All the bugs were fixed (at least the ones i've encountered), steam interface now works as well, and all the glitched achievements were also fixed, i tested them all myself. Lastly, starting episode 2, a very cool feature was added - the narrator, which can give you clues on certain items. I was finally able to play both episodes from the start to the end without any problem.

AR-K is an episodic point-and-click adventure with some very challenging puzzles, and has a very intriguing story which will keep you wanting more with every step you advance through the game. There are also a lot of funny moments which made me laugh out loud several time. One of the game's best feature is the voice acting. Simply outstanding, especially the main character. Overall, its a very enjoyable game. The only con left from my point of view is the resolution, which is 1280x768, and there is no option to change it from the launcher, it looks good enough in window mode, but if you choose to play in full screen - it will not scale up correctly and you'll also get a blurred picture as a bonus. However, the developer said, and i quote : "The next two episodes will be made in 1920x1080".

Let's hope the next two episodes will be properly tested before released, so that players don't have to experience again similar problems, but so far AR-K is worthy of your time, and definitely deserves the attention of all classic point-and-click adventure players.

I've cut a car into a thousand pieces in 3 seconds. 11/10 GOTY!

Just kidding of course. This stupid and pathetic type of reviews are killing me. If you can't write a few decent sentences about a game - why bother ? But enough about it, let's talk about the game.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the hack-and-slash spinoff of the Metal Gear series, and a damn good one. Absolutely no Metal Gear knowledge or experience is required. You get to play as Raiden - a half-human, half-cyborg ninja through a 10-15 hour single-player campaign. After completing it you also get two bonus mini campaigns where you can play as Jetstream Sam & Blade Wolf, each of them having their own features. But that's not all. There are also a lot of VR missions to unlock in the main story as well as in the secondary ones, which you can play later at any time.

MGR:R has a good story accompanied by a great soundtrack. Although not exactly my type of music (metal rock), it fits entirely the game's atmosphere. The game is locked at 60 fps, but that's fine with me. It has a great art design and good visuals. Still, the best part is the combat and the gameplay itself. There are some stealth features available which were imported from the Metal Gear series, like barrels and boxes you can use to hide from enemies or sneak through undetected, but don't get fooled by that, this is not a stealth game by far, on the contrary - it's a "go on rampage" type. There are many different types of enemies, and you can cut each one of them in as many pieces as you want and also finish them with some nice looking finishing moves, including stealing the life source from their cyborg equipments. MGR: Revengeance is also very rewarding. There is a in-game currency which you can earn and use it to unlock new skills, well designed weapons which can also be improved, as well as extending your health and energy bar, and acquiring new costumes for your character, including my favourite - the Mariachi one. For some reason, slaughtering cyborgs wearing a Sombrero felt a lot better ^_^ Btw, I almost forgot to mention the amazing boss fights. I won't describe anything about it so i don't have to include any spoilers, but they are quite memorable. You'll see that for yourself.

I recommend Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance without any doubt, and i assure you it is worth every penny from its full price. If you're into hack-and-slash or fast-paced games - this would be one of the best choices you could make.

I first got my hands on Obscure back in 2004, on PS2. Was quite surprised to see it on Steam. It's one of the games which reserved a spot in my memory. I remember having a lot of fun playing it, and i got the same pleasure replaying it after 10 years.

Obscure is an old-school horror survival game which manages to entertain by offering a cheesy story, influenced by the Robert Rodriguez's "The Faculty" movie. It uses the music from the movie and even contains a character based on it. Even though i heavily disliked the movie, Obscure succeeded in offering me a whole different perspective.

You have 5 students trying to escape their school, from an entire horde of monsters created by their Principal who was experimenting on students. You can choose to play for any of them, and at any time a second player can join the game for any other character, which doesn't force you to start a new game if you want to play local co-op with a friend. Each one of them has a different special ability like running faster, better healing, or picking locks skills. I loved especially the method of saving the game. You do it using a CD which you need to find in-game, and i consider it to be an important aspect in a survival game, so that one won't be able to save every 2 minutes since the amount of CD's you can find is limited. The outstanding soundtrack composed by Olivier Derivière, in this particular environment, creates a even creepier atmosphere. There are few types of monsters, and also limited types of weapons, but what makes it better is that except weapons there is something else that hurts monsters - light. So when you are in a room with windows, and got yourself cornered - you can always break some windows and let them know who the boss is, as for the rooms with no windows - one can combine any firearm with a flashlight. I didn't notice for the light of the flashlight to inflict any damage, but at least it keeps the monster at distance for a short period of time.

There are also some cons of course, but none which caused me any inconvenience. You can choose a resolution up to 1920x1080 but the game does not support widescreen so you'll just get a 4:3 aspect with black borders on the right and left side. Playing it with keyboard & mouse is possible, but not entirely comfortably. At least i couldn't do it, so i just used a Xbox 360 controller which worked just great. Graphics are not the best, but also not awful, especially for a 10 years old game. I enjoyed Obscure very much, and would recommend it to anyone who likes old school survival games. Looking forward to play the second game. Hope i'll enjoy it as much as the first. Cheers ;)

* NOTE > The game also includes all the Deluxe Edition content: Soundtrack, Artwork, Screenshots, Sketches...

As for the beginning i should mention that i'm a highly emotive person but cold-hearted at the same time, who could watch any emotionally disturbing events and never blink an eye if circumstances demand so, however this game didn't even bother to try me. I'll probably get assaulted by some who presumably were tackled by the emotiveness of this game, but i'll take my chances since, frankly, there is no single reason why i would give it a thumbs up.

It is indeed a game which tends to appeal on emotions, but it fails this part too, except a few occasion when it manages to touch the player, and further on i'll explain why. First of all, it's almost one year after release and the game is still buggy. You can see that for yourself in the 2 screenshots i've posted on the game's community hub. Characters can sit on invisible chairs, type on invisible typing machines or read books while their heads are stuck in the table, etc, and all of that in less than 4 hours of gaming... Also, Dan, the main character developed a habit to close the doors of his office when he needs to rest or focus on the book he's writing, and doesn't want to be disturbed by his family. I got stuck in his office for quite a few times, having nothing to do, just waiting and wondering when will he finally open the doors so i can get out. At first i relied on the fact that me being a ghost, i'm not supposed to be seen opening doors, but imagine my surprise when i saw for the first time his wife walking in the office right through the closed door, and walking out through the other one. I was like "WTF? I am the damn ghost in this house or this this family who clearly posseses more supernatural skills than i do ?!"

Leaving all bugs and glitches behind, the whole purpose of the game is to find out what the family members wish for, and try to make them all happy, or at least feeling less miserable, by choosing somebody's wish and make a compromise with other member. Problem is the choices are sometimes ridiculous. For example: the mother wants to go camping on some place far from home, the father wants to go camping somewhere near by, and the son wants his father to help him launch his toy rocket. You choose father's wish to go camping somewhere near by and try to reach a compromise with his wife based on the fact that he's behind the schedule with his work on the book. Done. The son remains unhappy. WHY ?! Even if the father is so ridiculously busy at home, why can't he just take 5 minutes and help his son launch a toy rocket while they were camping for almost an entire day? And this is only one example from an entire list of unrealistic stupid choices one has to make.

What else made me be so cold-hearted towards this game's attempt to appeal on my emotions ? The almost empty house, the dull environment, the repetitive actions of the characters which walk from a part of the house to another over and over, and mostly the lack of any active emotions between them. Upon the interaction of the characters in the house you'll just hear "Hi mom" and the answer back "Hi darling", and that's all, after which they all go do something different, mother watches TV, the son plays with a toy, and the father drinks by himself in the office or sticks his head again in the table and starts to read. Does that look like a busy family to you where they presumably can't find the time to satisfy each other ?

There are many other things i could list, but looks like my review is becoming too long, so i'll just stop here. The overall experience felt boring and tedious. There is no way i could recommend to anybody this clearly overpriced and overrated game.
