I can highly recommend Isonzo!!!

It is great to see a WWI game that isn't BF1 that actually has people playing it.
The graphics & the attention to historical detail are very impressive.
It is also great to see a WWI game that breaks the stereotype that the war was exclusively men charging on mass out of the trenches & into machine gun fire. Much fighting was done with just mass groups of infantry armed with bolt action rifles, a detail the game represents very well.
Speaking of weapons, I am glad to see a WW themed game that doesn't give everyone & their dog an automatic weapon. Instead players can unlock a variety of period correct rifles & pistols, including some very interesting reserve rifles like the Austrian Werndl Rifle. It should be worth mentioning that sniper rifles & machine guns are present in the game, but are limited to a few per team.
The gun play is excellent & very easy to get into.
The game's progression system is rewarding, giving players new weapons, skins, equipment & traits.
The different classes feel unique & they each have their own style of game play giving the player several options & never feeling like you are missing out on the OP stuff if you can't use a machine gun or sniper rifle.
My only criticism would be that the Officer class has the ability to call in gas, smoke & artillery strikes. The cooldown period for these abilities seems to be rather small so you do end up seeing them used more then some players would like.

Overall the game is very fun to play & it looks like the devs are actually going to commit to the game with more content already on the way.

Legitimate false advertising!!!
This game is not "hardcore" & its barely a "WW2 shooter"
Everyone & their dog has an automatic weapon (suggesting the target audience is 8-12)
There is no reason to play as a medic so good luck getting a revive.
Hardly anyone uses the guns that actually got used in the period.
The optimisation is piss poor.
You will be playing for a long time if you want to unlock any of the cosmetics (there are not that many of them & most of them are trash)

To summarise:
The game has more in common with CoD or battlefield & greatly fails at its claim of being "hardcore"
There are better WW2 shooters available that more authenticity betray the period & do a better job at being "hardcore"

WTF have the dev's been doing since 2012????

Has a long way to go but Holdfast is still a good game, very clearly made for player hosted events. You MUST join a regiment if your wanna play this game, don't pick it up if you don't intend to join one, there is literally an option on the main menu called "Regiments" for the player to brows through. The dev team add new content & fix issues pointed out by the community, however they do tent to take their time, admittedly it is a small dev team so its understandable. Can recommend for anyone interested in the time period, a fanof RP & teamwork in games.

You can tell the devs put a lot of effort into it & they actually cared when making it.

Very happy with it. So far I've had a smoth run, with no crashes, texture bugs or glitches & I'm 9 hours in, the only problem I have had is a slight FPS drop now once an hour, but nothinbg that makes me want to stop playing. It really feels like a Batman Arkham game, there are so many things to do & I wana do them all!!! I would write more in the very positave reiew but I really wana get back in to my game.

This game is the for all the preby 6 year olds who like the Jedi & there preby lightsaber battles, this is for the people who like the gritty millarty aspect of star wars.

The movies view the stoy through the heroic eyes of the Jedi, this game views the story through the eyes of a battle hardend clone trooper

You play as a leader of a squad of clone commando's & go deep dehind enery lines, fighting many differant types of battle droids, trandotions & Genotions.

This game is good, get it, if your a preby lightsaber fan get knights of the old republic

This DLC adds the Spartans that we want but you can't use them in multi-player!!!

If you have seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi9sigONVEk then you would know that Creative Assembly say that it's action packed. NOT TRUE in 3 hours of play I do 3 battles.
I'm not saying don't buy it cause there are some good features like Sparta getting good CAV, the Spartans look Badass & now other factions stand a chance against Sparta thanks to some balencing.

It's not bad it's just not what I hoped for... 6.5/10

Great game!!! Think simulater,RPG & RTS so if your into (TES) the elder skroll, (TW) total war or a realistic game then this is for you. You can command troops in battle but at the same time you can take matters into your own hands. Theres plenty of costomization in turms of armor in (MBWB) mount & blade war band & fire & sword but I should say the (NW) Napolionic war lacks the single player element but if you join a (REG) regment then your multi-player alone will make (NW) worth it so I give mount & blade an 8/10.
