Rougelands is a suprisingly addictive game, my time in it has been spent slowly leveing up, only to have my hopes dashed by a fight I neither expected nor was prepared for. despite my explorers loss, each dead body gives me more resources, items, options and most importantly knowledge for the next explorer.. I may not have beaten the game yet, but from atop the moutian of corpses that have gone before me I hope to get just that much farther than the previous explorer. The use of droids to gather resources is awesome, and I like the fact I can customize the layout of the ship, coupled with all kinds of resources to manage and mess around with.

I absolutely respect and can see the point of the argument that having a level 100 character die and have to start all over with the best gear, and so much work turned to ash being an annoying feature... so I approached this game like a red-shirt generator... but playing with a partner might help avoid that.

That being said, I love the experience this game gives me, and I wish I could see something like the Memorial Wall in XCOM to show me every solider and explorer that I have sent to thier death prior to this point.

8.9/10
