Just finished the game after endless hours of fun.
I still can't understand how the devs could afford to give it away for free!

By the way, I tried to donate 20 Euros to your valiant cause, but the site made me run around in circles... threw me into PayPal which finally rejected me, in spite of my having an account with them. So, consider yourselves paid, or make it easier to pay you.

That said, I have just 2 minor complaints:

1. Many players have complained about problems with starting up the game. I, myself had to start the game on an average of 4 to 5 times before it would launch properly, and I have a high-end gaming laptop. Considering the number of players that have had the same problem over the last couple of years, one would think the devs would would want to address a fix for that sooner than later.

2. The English translation is word perfect and the voice acting is extraordinary but the text is way too verbose, to the point of being very boring. Half as much, in most cases, would have been more than enough. When you guys work on your next project, and I hope it is soon, please bear this in mind... Players that get into a basically action oriented game, don't really enjoy NPCs prattling on while they sit back twiddling their thumbs.

My advice... Buy it... it's for free!

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians!

The title made me curious, the gameplay videos were really interesting, but... Grid based movement? Reminds me of the early days of dungeon crawling. 4 Characters? Yeah, sure! 4 classes? Tank, Cleric, 2 Damage Dealers... Been there, done that! Active pause? I like that... gives you time to think of your next move. 30+ hours of gameplay? Is that all? Gimme a break!

THIS GAME IS SELLING ITSELF SHORT!

I got 261, exquisite hours out of it and it left me crying for more.
They didn't tell me anything about the inovative interface... the mind-boggling puzzles, the interminable boss battles, the unending treasure hunt, the amazing graphics... those monsters, they really fight you and when you, finally, better them, I love the way they curl up and die. Gives you a real sense of accomplishment!

'Nuff said about the game, 'cause here is the best part. It is a hard, hard game and you will be stuck a lot of the time. But, the guy who developed it (he's like a one-man-show), never sleeps! He's online 24/7 (a slight exageration, but only slight)... he walked me through every difficult situation. Whatta Mensch!

So, BUY THIS GAME, now! You'll never regret it!

I had stopped playing games for almost a year. But I'm really glad I discovered The Quest, cuz now I'm back.
Great value for money and a terrific throwback to the dungeon crawlers of the '90s.
This isn't early access but the devs are constantly listening in to players comments and updating the game to their requirements/suggestions, sometimes daily. This is the advantage of indie games... (most of them) care about their customers.
I haven't had so much fun in a very long time and am really looking forward to (the promised) DLC and The Quest 2.
All I can say is, BUY & ENJOY!
