Not the animations

The biggest problem this game has is it's price, I had some fun and was able to overlook most of the bugs and lack of improvements over previous titles but in no way does it feel like a 2021 sports title. If they dropped the price to $40NZD it'd seem fair.

After each match with my friend it took us back to the main menu and we had to invite each other again (and mute each other every time)

There's no team rating at the team selection screen
No substitutions in online matches? (our players were gassed but we couldn't do anything about it)

We mucked around for 2 hours and agreed it barely if at all seems improved from previous titles so we refunded.

Getting the base game for 84% off was great but...

Half of the roster is locked behind an expensive paywall
You can't practice or do anything while you wait for long OCE queues

still a lot of fun

I thumbed down because...

The crafting is convoluted.
Item trading is tedious.
Searching for items requires using websites and no trading can take place while you're offline.
The spell animations are often excessive and become obnoxious in group play.
There's little to no incentive to party.
Too much junk drops on the ground requiring custom filters.

Ultimately there's too many minor annoyances that the fan base chooses to ignore or tolerate but perhaps worst of all, the developers want to keep some of the most annoying elements in the game because players don't know what's best.

Well I was enjoying the game but the devs bumped the price of breeding x5 which is required to have a competitive team. Players that bred their teams before the patch now have a massive advantage over everyone else. For perspective sake I’ve played around 70 hours, completed what’s available in the campaign and have grinded 20 hours since, yet thanks to bad RNG I still haven’t got a single maxed out Temtem thanks to gender coin toss.

Ignoring the pre patch advantage the cost increase makes the breeding grind an abysmal joke.
There’s nothing else to do at the moment asides from grind cosmetic clothing which cost about 20 hours grind each.

At some point ill play the single player and perhaps it'll blow me away but so far I've only played Red Dead Online and although I've paid $100 for the game, I haven't paid real money for in game Gold which you need to unlock each of the worthwhile activities, bounty hunting, collecting, trading etc. You can earn the Gold but it's an absolute grind, a grind just to unlock content in a sandbox.. I'd recommend this if there were hackers shooting gold and money at you with Mini guns like in GTA Online but as it stands the grind/paywall is bad/boring/lame.
