I have been playing since the closed beta. Increasingly over the last few years Wargaming has started to release updates which destroy the old game mechanics and balance, not listening to community feedback at all. Seemingly trying to milk the community as much as possible with all the fancy mobile game f2p mechanics. People already started slowly moving away from the game like a year ago, with player numbers declining steadily since then.
