Good fun, but requires some assistance to get the good ending. Not everything is clear story wise which has a direct impact on how to expand the map and continue the game.

Also not all items drop as expected, sometimes you can be locked out of upgrading something unless you seriously commit to farming a certain mob to get a certain drop to upgrade certain gear above a certain point. Which can limit you a bit. You are more than capable of defeating enemies if you pay attention to your stats but this is something that irked me a bit.

Other than that, the world and map is done very well and interesting. Mobs are varied and keep things fresh. Some of the side quests are a bit trash like getting very specific dishes for some old woman which you have to really go out of your way to do, I couldnt be bothered to do. But other than that its core gameplay and world are great fun.

Good game, gameplay feels very smooth and responsive. Guns feel exactly how you would want them to feel and expect them to. animations feel natural and well done.

The graphics are hit and miss, some parts of the game hold up very well, whilst others like parts of the terrain, e.g. mountains, etc have poor textures.

Plot is good, the first 3 acts are very well done and keep the suspense the last act is good too but has some contrived elements.

Its not on the level of a masterpiece like RDR2 which had an insane budget, manpower and time. But it is still one of the best old western games ever made.

Definitely recommend and holds up game play wise, plot wise and mostly graphics wise today.

+The story is the best part of the game and the characters fulfill their role pretty well.
+/- combat is relatively basic but the modifiers add some level of complexity but there isn't much to the executions.
+ the visuals are a really good despite its age.

Pretty short game, even though I played it on hard mode. I'd definitely recommend it on sale for a short story based game.

if you have an NVIDIA card you need to change the low latency setting to run it without stuttering.

Excellent remaster by Night Dive studios! It also contains all the DLC, Quake 2 64 and a totally new campaign. Very enjoyable game, one of the greatest shooters of all time. It not only holds up even today but surpasses the majority of what is out now. A truly timeless classic made even more timeless with the remaster!

One of the best arena shooters of its time, and still one of the best to this day.

Music missing, horrible performance, different eye colors to the original, so many bugs that haven't been fixed in almost 2 years that were never present in the original. All for what? a few updated textures?

All the positive reviews of this game are what the Mafia 2 classic game does too.

Hanger 13 really dropped the ball here. If you want a remaster go with night dive studios or bluepoint or someone on that level. I've seen modders that do a better job of "remastering" older games than Hanger 13. If you want to play it, play a texture modded version of Mafia 2 classic. Don't worry about the DLC its a waste of time anyways.

Far exceeds the first game in every measure but play the Darkness 1 first otherwise its story will feel confusing.

Highly recommended series.

Its starwars meets uncharted and a tiny bit of dark souls inspired combat.

Its part of EA play so you can get it on their subscription £3.99 for a month usually you can finish it in that time.

Very endearing game, mostly because of the story and characters. Very Likeable. The gameplay is alright but its there to prop up the story really. I will say this though the game has a phenomenal ending... but there is also an epilogue which is a console only DLC so after the game ends you will likely have to find vids showing the epilogue.
