Cool little game. The story was told well, and the art was cute. Some of the puzzles were pretty interesting. The platforming was my main issue. It was serviceable, but the character controller was very barebones and collisions were ambiguous due to the art for the character as well as scribble obstacles. It didn't ruin the experience but it definitely left me a little peeved in situations where the hitboxes get hairy. Hey, but it's free so that's ok.

This game is worth your money. If you're wondering what it is, it's an action-puzzle game that manages to incoorperate both aspects at the same time. The game is short, but carefully crafted so that it doesn't waste your time. Never once during this game did I say in my head "oh another one of THOSE puzzles." You should definitely give the game a shot.

(other reviews have some details about the gameplay).

Also good luck to both of you on your new adventure!

a little different than the older releases. though the new updates have kept the game fresh, playing solo has significantly decreased in fun. i blame this on the community though, which has gotten more quiet overtime. in all, its still a good game, but has less charm than it used to.

I feel like I just woke up for the most wonderful dream

I'd describe puzzle solving in the game as almost scientific. It's kind of like discovering how electricity works, and then suddenly being able to understand and build all the circuits that just looked like mumbo-jumbo before.

I love this game, but I feel like it has a glaring flaw. You can read other reviews for what makes it good, but I wanted to talk about something I didn't like: the hand-holding. There are so many interesting things about the game world that sparked my imagination from the colorful descriptions, but oh man does the person in your suit spoil all of it. Every single time a new creature pops up or a new behavior is observed, the suit person will pop in, pause your progress, and explain exactly what you're supposed to think, and what you're supposed to do. For example: (minor spoilers of the first 2 hours, but not really) there's one portion of the game where you encounter a weird part of the reef that looks different than what you've previously explored. You can see this on the hud through the different patterns of the sea life. The suit woman will start talking again, and tell you how it looks different and that probably means something is wrong and there must be some infection. Later you'll find a bloated plant, and it's very obvious in the description that the plant is infected. The suit woman will chime in, and say she thinks its infected. Not only that, but she will read into it even more and talk about how there must be some "greater problem in the reef" and you'll know shes right. You keep walking, encounter the greater problem with the reef, and then you'll see fans that seem to leave a zone free of infection, obvious from the UI. Your suit person will chime in, and tell you that standing in there will block the infection. At no point did this game let me discover the world by myself or let me discover its mechanics on my own. This happens it constantly and without fail it spoils the feeling of discovery.

TLDR: This game is really hand-holdy. I feel like the person in the suit spoils reveals before they happen.

I've been wanting a grappling hook, and instead I got a game. And by god, it was awesome. Not only that, but the story is lovely. It's so GOOD.

I absolutely love this game; and if you have the patience, you might, too. I have two copies of this, one on my switch and one here. I *never* do this, but this game was worth it.

Why?
----------------------------
The game is incredibly fast and requires some muscle memory, but once you get the controls down you'll be zooming through the awesomely and cleverly designed levels in no time. Also the levels are designed super well so they fit your skill level accordingly.

Dying: You tend to do it a lot here. However (at least for me), the deaths weren't unenjoyable or boring. They were FUN. You get a little closer each time, and the dashing and jumping is just so rythmic and fun, regardless if you die.

MUSIC IS AMAZING

Also have i mentioned the story is great (you'll have to find out why ;) )

SO MANY SECRETS AND CHALLENGES

My only complaint: Sometimes some of the more hidden secrets require you to search things up, but maybe that's because I'm lazy

This is the best sandbox game ever (other than maybe Minecraft). It can be hard when you don't have a clue of what you're doing, once you know what's going on you can build all sorts of rockets and planes. The only thing that'd be nice is somemore things to do when on other planets

(Edit)
I'm so sorry. I love this game to death but... We need to make an example. Even good games can't be exempt from ethics. This game's EULA makes it spyware. :(
