Not worth it. It is an early access game with the only finished feature being a cash cosmetic shop.

I want to like this game but the issues are glaringly present. Beyond the freemium issues the big issue for me is stability. A game that can't be played is worthless. If servers are working and you can ignore the battle pass, cosmetic gambling, and premium suits than go for it.

Pros - A fun hero shooter with often intense matches.

Cons - Server stability is horrid. You'll be random kicked then get a punishment for "quitting the match early" then preventing you from rejoining the match or entering a new match.
- Micro transactions and loot crates. There are 5 characters locked behind a pay wall of about $10 each. The loot crates are cosmetics and honestly the cosmetics aren't great. There seems to be few opportunities to gain currency ingame to unlock more characters.

After a bit more I have a better view of the game. I wouldn't recommend it but it isn't a bad auto chess game. The stability is the biggest downside this game has. You will crash, and it will ruin a match or two.

Early Access Review
If there is one word to describe Ark Survival Evolved is frustration. To start with the positive then the truth behind the game.
Positive: The game is relatively unique in the idea of the variety of technology and the dinosaurs in the same setting. It has potental, but that is about it.

Negatives: Optimization is abysmal at best with long loading time and massive server lag. Certain dinos in the game such as the Bronto will cause massive lag spikes with each swipe of it's tail in any forested area. It even seems like the game was getting worse loading times and lag spikes the content is released.

The grind in this game is absurd. I feel that whoever designated the amounts for the harvesting rates either made them up completly, or has no concept of amounts. For example the flak armour which is metal plate armour weighs .5, which is the same weight as the cloth shirt. The mortar and pestal in the game requires 65 stones which is 32.5 (units?) of stone while the stone wall only requires 40 stones which is 20 units. The value in the game make no sense, and are frustrating when you need to farm literally thousands of pounds of wood and stone to craft more advance items. Basically you need 340 stones to craft a single rocket, not the launcher the ammo.

The dinos are very frustating in a game about dinos. The ai of the dinos is minimul at best. Every herbivore just wanders circles while a few with eat from bushes and such as they wander. They never sleep, or respond in any way besides being attacked. When attacks they either run away often headfirst into rocks and trees since there is almost no pathing, or they fight to the death. Most carnivore behave like rapid animals and attack almost everything they sense with slight prioritizing. Since they added the mechanic where they flee when they are about to die most dinos just run off the oposite direction even if it is into the ocean. Tamed dino are no different either Trying to kill everything, every dino in you base all try to attack anything that attacks them, or passive which means they will stand there and be slowly killed by the weakest enemy. The ai is near none existant with everything has either a stand and poop for hours mentality or a killer everything behavior.

The dinos taming is also a massive pain in the neck. Taming any dino worth it's salt in a fight requires hours upon hours to find and tame. My first rex before kibbles was release took almost 4 hours and it was only level 25. Now they have stronger dinos they you'll need to raiders don't wipe you off the map, but I hope you have the time and resources to set up massive egg farms, and gather the resources, and have up to 20 hours to tame some of the strongest dino available. If you don't have the time or firepower to subdue one of these you'll probably thing about bredding right? Wrong! Breeding is more resource intensive than taming is by a long shot. One missed timing in feeding or keeping the egg at the wrong temp can kill the offspring. Also with astronomical food cost for baby dinos, you'll find yourself running around like a lunatic mass slaughting everything moving trying to keep it fed. Any rational person would think that the giant bronto drop enough meat to feed a baby raptor, well in ark a baby raptor could easily eat 4 and still ask for more after. Dinos were suppose to be the keep to resources, but after the recent nerf to dinos it is nolonger worth taming or even breeding anything but a quetzal or a gigatosaurus. Odd thing is after the nerf metal weapons are better at gathering resources than the mammoths and ankylos that many people have spend hours taming. The nerf made my ten perfect tame level 120 raptors useless, same for my sabertooths, spinos, and rexes. So many hours down the drain. A good thirty hours of my time wasted. Sound like fun or more frustration yet?

The commuity has rather rapidly decended from a happy community that want to enjoy the game to a bitter and angry bunch that kill on sight. With the so called "zero tolerance" to hacking being about as thorough as a blind man building a puzzle. As matter of fact I've found more friendly and helpful hackers in the public servers than I have found helpful admins or moderators.

The devs were chill and nice at first but they feel more distant from the community; the more people vent their opinions on the state of the game. Since the xbox version has been released, content has taken a snail's pace, even though the devs specifically anounced that no change in update pace would take place. There is also a lack of freedom of speech in the forums. Anything that isn't saying the game is great, anything that voices a negative opinion about the zero tolerance policy and it's relative failure is silence though locking a threads. They moderators there need to know people are not posting there because people do not know about the path the devs put in place. People put it in the forums because the methods you want us to use DOES NOT WORK.

Overall I guess I have gotten my time's worth out of this game in it's eternal grind. Unfortunately I can no longer enjoy Ark. I want to see this game prosper into a fun experience that capture the creativity of the concept. But I will not see it. A game that I spent close to 130 hours, that I can no longer enjoy. I feel like a fool for buying another early access game, and regret every playing it.

And there are always a few people that cry out "early access" or "it's unfinished". It's reviewed how it is presented not how it could be.

I once loved to play this game, and now I regret ever buying it!

Ingame pay for currency I could stand. The new dlc for one more level and a broken class I could stand. Even the item wipes I could stand to an extent. The mana change was too much. It made most character made before the change unplayable. My level 76 redneck is now useless, and my level 50 pyromancer can barely cast a spell. It would of been bearable if there was a stat reset for high level characters afterwards. But a fully released game should not be changing core mechanics on the fly.

I've never tried the multiplayer so I can't say much about it.

I regret wasting almost thirty hours of my time on this more than the money. Ultimately avoid this game. From everything that I have seen the Devs either don't listen or care what the community has to say. There are other good game in the genre find an alternative.

Early Access Review
Killing Floor 2, is a game you have a love hate relationship with, and because of that I cannot recomend it. First the pros then the reasons why this title disappoints.
Pros:
1. Graphics. Whether it is the details on the zed, or the gore that the zed turns this game looks good.
2. SoundTrack. A fitting mix of various heavy metal bands help to energize the mood even further. (Could be a minus depends on your taste.)
3. Good servers. I've experienced very little lag personally, and always a few servers that fit my tastes. (Could vary from person to person, just my personal experience)

Cons:
1. Sparse updates. At this rate seems like KF2 with be another of the game lost in the permanent limbo known as early access. With only two noticable updates in the span of eight monthes makes it very easy to lose interest.
2. Bad choices. The most recent addition of the ingame purchases made me lost faith in Trip Wire and their decisions on the game. We all understand that they are a business and their goal is to make money. But the adding an ingame shop to a unfinished product before adding content that the outdated original game had is a step back and feels wrong.

Conlusion: Killing Floor 2 can be enjoyable, but with the developers adding a ingame cash shop feels like a blatant money grab that makes me fear for the future of the game. Sparse updates also drives any desire to play down even further. Would be worth it on a very good sale though is fun for a weekend.

Since the update there have been some changes, but my opinion on whether it is worth it or not is still the same. I will admit I am glad they got rid of the outrageous dlc and added some ai, but the has changed very little. The single player is shallow with only allowing the player to choose pre-selected teams with no team custimization of any kind. The multiplayer online for all intensive purposes is still dead, and the online ai teams kinda break the whole purpose of online multiplayer. Glad it changed but still not worth it.
