For Those of Us Who Were There From the Beggining

(... and some of us who wern't.)

This is a memorial group set up to commemorate the once glorious, irreverant, infamous, and now defunct steam group known as Gamers For Mudkip. This group serves no purpose other than this. We will not be hosting servers, trolling G4C, or performing any other G4M related activities.

A Brief History of Gamers for Mudkip
Gamers for Mudkip was started as a hub to coordinate the trolling of Gamers for Christ, a TF2 group that may or may not have taken themselves a bit too seriously. The group soon evolved from these humble begginings into something with a bit more substance. Over the course of three years, several servers, thousands of members, and two leaders, G4M cultivated a unique "personality". Delighting in irreverance, they provided servers that barely floated above anarchy, but that also proved to be quite popular with those on Steam who were looking for something different. Sadly G4M could not resist the intractable creep of irrelevancy. As the group became larger it became increasingly impersonal. When it became clear that the group would eventually fall into inactivity and its servers would come to be dominated by one time players, the group's leader Quote decided to end the group in the only way befitting a group like G4M. On December 21, 2012 Gamers for Mudkip was destroyed in an announcement spaming the likes of which have probably never been seen on steam before and will likely never be seen again. 2 hours and 55,000 announcements later (458 announcements per second) the group was gone, permanently deleted by Valve. This page has been erected to stand as a lasting testament to that once great group.
