Not enough content and way too much micromanagement. There is no automation at all, it gets tedious as soon as you hit 2 employees and gotta tell them to go sleep or eat every time.

Noble Fates initially seemed like the perfect haven for a building enthusiast like me, but the excitement quickly faded into frustration and disappointment.

The first significant letdown was the non-regenerating trees (or is it just extremly slow?). While seemingly minor, the absence of this essential resource regeneration becomes a persistent headache, especially given its importance for crafting, furniture, and fuel. Resource management constantly struggles, casting a pervasive shadow over the gaming experience.

The sense of unfinished business in the game only adds to the disappointment. Despite the option for marriage, for example, the inability to have children feels like an oversight, leaving the gameplay feeling disjointed. Moreover, the attachment of the tech tree to characters turns each death into a frustrating setback, akin to starting from scratch. It's a jarring experience that erases any sense of continuous progress.

Building, a core aspect of the game, is marred by buggy mechanics, particularly for those wanting to explore subterranean construction as dwarves. The room division function fails to recognize complex structures, making building underground an exercise in futility and undermining the game's essence.

The military aspect is no less disappointing, with clunky controls that make battles feel more about luck than strategy. The lack of precision and effectiveness in executing maneuvers leaves battles feeling arbitrary and frustrating.

When seeking guidance or clarification, it proved to be an exercise in futility. Diplomacy, in particular, remained a mystery, leaving me grappling with unanswered questions.

Despite these flaws, Noble Fates showcases a few promising innovative ideas. Unfortunately, the execution falls flat, failing to convince.
On a slightly positive note, the game's charming aesthetics provide a brief reprieve. The visual appeal maintains a cute and pleasant backdrop, offering a small comfort amidst the numerous frustrations.

-------

In summary, this game had the potential to be a standout building game, but its current state needs to be better. The lack of essential features (such as forestry), numerous bugs, and clunky mechanics make it challenging to recommend to anyone seeking a fulfilling building experience.

"Kind Words" falls short of its promise to create a meaningful space for connecting with others through anonymous letters.

An overly restrictive word limit for responses hinders the game's attempt to foster empathy. This limitation diminishes the potential for meaningful and nuanced conversations, leaving interactions shallow and unsatisfying.

Furthermore, the "paper planes for positive affirmations" feature is plagued by users misusing it for hashtag chain letters, overshadowing any genuine attempts at connection.

Not at all intuitive. The tutorial alone probably takes 5 hours to get through.

Very cute game but it lacks plenty of content to be worth the money.
