Early Access Review
This game already feels like a complete game. Interesting early 2000's graphics style similar to Morrowind and games with similar styling while still being new and fresh with how things look. If you like Terraria or Minecraft and games like 7 days to die this game will be right up your alley. Definitely my favorite game of 2021 so far.

Think World of Warcraft meets Eye of the Beholder. That is the best summary of this game I can give without giving spoilers. It is 100% worth the price. I love this game.

As someone who plays on community created persistant worlds I love this. The EE version adds a lot of support for things that aren't even a consideration in the base game. If you, like me, plan to play on online persistant worlds like Arelith, then you kind of already had to buy this. The single player experience is exactly the same as it was in Diamond edition.

I only really recommend this edition if you plan to play on persistant worlds or you don't run windows. This version works on mac and linux as well. As I run linux, its nice to have native support.

The Avernum original trilogy are my absolute favorite RPGs of all time. Extremely good story driven game combined with open world from the start lets you pretty much do what you want. It has turn based combat and very simplistic graphics and no music beyond a couple small jingles you get (one at the game menu and the other during loading screens). Each game in this series will easily last you 80 to 100 hours each. The game lets you create a party of 4 characters at the start of the game. The characters have no discernable personality but that makes them easier to project yourself onto.

All in all, you will not be disappointed with this game. Number 2 is also available on steam. Number 3 hasn't been remade yet. If you want to buy the original remake from the early 2000s you can get all 6 avernum games on GoG for under 10 bucks.

ps: I only have about 40 hours on this game at the time of review, but I have played through the 2nd version of this game before, which is not available on steam. This version has some really good quality of life improvements like a quest log, free resting and resurrection of dead party members, as well as an easier to understand skill system.

This is, paws down, one of the greatest CRPGs of all time. Dragon Age Origins plays like an MMO, but its single player. This means you can play a healer if you want and still be completely viable (which is what I did for my first playthrough).

Singlehandedly one of the greatest CRPGs ever made. If you have any care for Dungeons and Dragons then you need to play this game. Its based off of D&D 2nd edition rules and very faithfully creates that feeling of playing Pen and Paper Dungeons and Dragons. The story is very well written and the character customization is pretty spot on with what you expect from D&D. I'd love to see more playable races such as Gnolls, Kobolds, Tieflings, and half-dragons (or dragonborn), but that isn't required to make this a good game. The controls may take a little getting used to as the game uses a real time turn based which means pausing the battles will be common and frequent.

Stardew Valley is Harvest Moon on steroids. Take everything you love about Harvest Moon and make it better and add a few new things in for good measure. 10/10 I am extremely hyped. I am loving this game.

This is basically a port of the DS remake for FF4. According to my mate this is the best version of FF4 ever released (DS version), and I am inclined to agree. My only complaint so far is that the overworld screen is too zoomed in (but I got used to it relatively quickly). The low framerate cap isn't even noticable since this is an RPG (and a classic turn based one at that) and the story and gameplay are just as good as ever. I highly recommend this if you love FF4 as much as me, or just want to experience it for the first time. In my opinion Final Fantasy 4 is the best Final Fantasy game ever made.

First rule of preordering any game (everyone should know this by now) RESEARCH THE GAME BEFORE YOU PREORDER IT! Because I did my research I knew going into this that the expansions (seriously, DLC was not a thing in the 90s, they are called expansions folks) are NOT included in this release. This includes the bonus faction, minor rule changes (moats doing damage for example) as well as the random map generator.

All of that said, I got exactly what I paid for: an HD remake of the classic HoMM3. I'd like to eventually get the expansions for this version and will gladly pay for them if they are released as dlc anytime in the future. Till then I am perfectly happy reliving my memories of when I bought this game for my old Pentium 2 machine back in 99 when it came out. Yes, I do recommend this if you're looking for only the base game. If you want everything and the updated graphics aren't important to you then I'd recommend going to gog.com and getting their version that does include everything the original release had plus the expansions.
