Could I be seen as crazy just because I got this game due to the fact that the presentation reminded me of the 1978 film Watership Down? Maybe but aswell being won over by the unique visuals this game actually has some very good meat on it despite being early access, The meat of the game comes in two forms the content and the gameplay. The Content is ok but a little bit on the shallow side, The training is vital for this game as it shows you how the mechanical cogs of the combat works while the simple Arena and Versus in my opinion actually complement the training as bot matches help you put to practice the things you learnt from training. ( especailly learning to avoid and counter knife attacks !) After a little refinement in these game modes you're ready for the most meaningful part of the content the campaign missions

The campaign missions really are the best as they offer gameplay structure allowing you to use both stealth and combat together rather than just the combat, So how does one describe the Campaign? well although not quite fully to the letter the Tenchu series comes to mind, Yes Just like the Tenchu series from ps1 to TenchuZ on xbox360 this game holds the same satisfaction as despite very basic level and AI design you take great joy as you slowly figure out how to assassinate and not get overrun by the AI that comes before you. Its the mix of stealth and the very addictive combat that gives the game its heart and soul! . So In the end It's THIS gameplay aswell as the content that helps make the game so far a very small but also a very healthy piece of gaming satisfaction that I would recommend to anyone who loves both the art style and the Tenchu/ Ninja-est gamplay it offers.

Although A mixed bag this game in the end does hold out as some good entertainment. The Premise is simple guide a ball to a switch using variously differently skilled rats to help the ball reach the target, simple enough right? But this obviously doesn't point out the games experience and there are and few hindrances along the way that I'll point out.

When first playing the game I found the experience incredibly boring but this isn't believe it or not the games fault, rather the design choice to literally tell you the best rat for the job and giving out position points! These two simple things almost ruined the game as it was no longer a puzzle game and more obey and hope for the best almost removing the puzzle element completely. This handholding however can be adverted by turning off the position points and ignoring completely the briefing given to you at the beginning! Turn off the postion points then Igrone that scroll of paper forever!

Another thing to note is presentation as although it might be a marmite situation between love and hate the gritty cartoon like world with a touch of Conker's bad fur day was quite nice for me. Having said that though the main reward for solving the puzzle is a little bland as the same ginger cat that looks more like a horribly stuffed toy cat brought to life, not only gets killed in very limited ways but the animation and the reactions are so stiff that any aww moments for the cat are well.. not there in fact the greatest satisfaction doesn't come from the cats death but rather your rats.

The greatest highlights of the game have got to be the rats with timers on them setting the timer to fall in line with your plan and watching them fail never gets old! Watching a certain biker zoom past and blow up is always kinda of fun and rotating the rats ( especially the suicide bomber as you spawn him near enough to the ball to insta detonate ) is a flexible and fun way to start the game! Either way watching the rats perform there various functions can be very satisfying.

For all it's strenghts the game weaknesses are apparent for as nice as the setting of the street wise game show is it might aswell not be there! As none of it is used, The entire audience of characters, dancing girls etc. could bring the world to life but they just loom in the background which is probably for the best as the only person who does talk to you falls completely flat in both voice and delivery its best to ignore him aswell. Another weakness that might be a game breaker for once is the erratic physics for you can put the right rats in what you think is the right place but suddenly the ball plays out in a different manner than what you remember but for me persistence pays as a little bit of tweeking or just replaying it again until it bounces in your favour usually negates this factor.

So for all it's faults the horrible dialogue, stiff repetitive cat deaths and bouncy physics this game can be entertaining, with the far more satisfying rats deaths being remiscent of Conker's bad fur day its quite a joy to see them die and the timed units bring abit more fun into what can be a bit of a bland puzzle at times. Even though I haven't played the 3d puzzle elements yet what I've played works and for the price grants you some good puzzles ( Aslong as you turn off and ignore the handholding! ) laced with some fun gritty cartoon rat deaths that get a cheap giggle here and there. A cheap 6/10 game that gives some good entertianment if you're into it's gritty violent exterior.

The best way to describe this game it's like a unbaked cake.Although the product itself is far off from being cooked and done it can still be fun to lick the cake mixture off the spoon and this is exactly how to describe the content so far.

This game screams early development so those who'd fancy a more catered graphical experience may want to wait. Another weakness is singleplayer as dispite it's generous amount of maps each is just a very stale Deathmatch against bots (It's best to use Singleplayer as a test mode for your robots.) Lastly with the multiplayer community as it is. The only way so far is to annouce or lookout for a match on the forums and to arrive on the set time and day the match is. No jump in and play yet!

Gameplay is very solid. The movement of each type of robot feels alright and the way the guns handling feels acceptable too. But its saving grace it has is the customisation apart from the base (The robots legs) all parts can be moved around thanks to Spacers a lego like component which if done correctly can grant massive customisation options.

With Spacers you can place Guns, Generators, Armour plating and even your cockpit! almost where ever you desire. Have light armour cockpit but want protection? Rather than placing armour on it you can just use spacers to hid your cockpit behind your tank legs! Using your high armoured legs as protection instead!. Spacers can truely lead to some interesting designs.

Finally the greatest part is the weapon placement current cockpits can fire upto seven weapons at one time! if you had the time you could possibly create a super gun out of high powered sniper rifes and howitzers? ( Depending if you can control the recoil and master the fire spread) which could destroy anyone. The ability to mix weapons is up to you want a shotgun and flamethrower merely put them together and assign them to a robots many equipment slots and it's done.

Though the gameplay of this game is limited the customisation certianly Isn't with many Builds and weapons combos to try building a Robot is this games greatest joy! So although it can't be recommend for its limited gameplay at this time it can be for it's truly fun Customisation.
