RUINER is a top-down shooter game where the protagonist is completely silent.

The game is published by Devolver Digital, the same people around Hotline Miami, which this game is mostly compared to. It is very similar to Hotline Miami, but RUINER takes place in a futuristic city. The style of RUINER is very different to Hotline Miami, where it takes on a 3D graphical design rather than full pixels.

RUINER's gameplay is very fine-tuned. The player must use their skills and abilities to survive the unforgiving battle against the system. With dashes and many more skills, you can play how you want to play. Although the game might be short, it is sweet. There still is a replayable aspect with achievements, the recent arena mode, and speedrun.

TL:DR, RUINER is a fantastic game and is really good for both its gameplay and unlockables, seriously, these backgrounds are sick.

basically magicite 2, roguelands takes the same system of perma-death and progression through failure.

you begin creating a character from choosing from one of the factions, and each one has its own storyline, quests and rewards.

the gameplay is great, because there's so many different ways you can play, ranging from sword and magic, to using straight cannons. each world takes you to a different boss. different everything basically, and all of it is only for 10 bones. so the game is cheap, fun and even BETTER with friends.

This game has obviously changed since the review, the release of workshop, Crimson Court, etc. has changed my view on Darkest Dungeon.

To be honest, i'm a pleb that uses mods to make the game easier, but its how you like it. Workshop allows more casual gameplay. Also the modding community is always growing, whether new mods in the workshop are good or bad, it lets Darkest Dungeon get better on its own, with more dungeons to dive into and even more custom classes a modder can create.

Since the review back somewhere in 2016, Darkest Dungeon can be put in your rules. Whether you like the difficulty or just wanna play some game whenever your bored, Darkest Dungeon is actually very customizable.

I don't even own Crimson Court and the game is still fun for me. I've had more fun in Darkest Dungeon now than i ever had before. The turn-based combat never gets old for me, and the art style never fails to amaze anyone playing.

Really the only bad thing about the game is the grind, but mods that speed up the game animation-wise are avaliable to anyone who doesn't feel like sitting for hours to only have been let down with their people dying.

Darkest Dungeon - a game where your ass is grass and the monsters are the newest X-300 lawnmower ready to mow it.

My experience with darkest dungeon the first time, was very welcoming. Levels later I started to get fustrated instead of having fun. I lost a level 6 to 4 crits. IN A ROW. See the game is mostly on RNG and bullshittery. A person with 50 dodge can get hit 9/10 times.

Money. Money is one of your second worst problems. If you dont know how much to buy or need, you will drain cash easily with 2 dungeons. The cost for it is so brutal, the level 6 armor costs a whole lot so you have to choose wisely.
