I am opposed to the shady practices of Epic paying for exclusive rights and therefore I don't purchase games on Epic. The more you try and force us to adhere to your practices to try and grow your business for your own financial gains (while not thinking about your end users ) the more regular people are going to fight back.

That being said I waited for this game to release on steam, and now that I have purchased it, I still need to have Epic's Online services to play it?

FOR THAT YOU GET A DOWNVOTE ON THIS GAME.

1. You sold out to epic
2. I'm letting you know how I feel about it.
3. Make a good game and i'll buy and play it, and even rate it fairly. Engage in s#it practices, and I'll let you know where you stand.

Just for reference I have also bought, played, and fairly rated the other Dead Island games in years past.

I recently bought Helldivers 2, and although I am enjoying it, I said to my son "It's a little repetitive on the gaming loop. Still fun, but somewhat over-hyped IMO." (I've played around 35 hrs of Helldivers 2 at this point)

Yesterday, He sent me a copy of this game along with the message "The better Helldivers". I laughed to myself and then accepted the gift thinking I would humour him for a couple hours and give it a go. Before I knew it we had 4 of us playing it and we played for over 6 hours. It really is the better helldivers experience. In fact I said to the guys yesterday that if Ghost Ship games teamed up with the devs from Helldivers 2 and they combined the 2 games you would have the best helldivers/dwarven mining game on the market - with a topside experience and a subterranean experience rolled into one, and adding more diversity to what is essentially the same experience in both games.

For what this game is I couldn't believe what they packed into a $12 game that is under 4gb in size. AMAZING!! And it's not even bad graphically. I'm currently playing on an old GTX 1070 (my 3080 ti is being repaired in shop) and I am getting 100 fps.

This game has been made with love, and it shows.

Fun game coop. I bought this game and within the first 3 days I have played 13 hours, so I can't complain about the engagement level. You get to unlock a lot of equipment and guns for your character and with the various levels of difficulty you can set this game to your liking.

I hope they introduce a few more enemy types and some other planet biomes, but for the price of the game it's definitely engaging and fun!

I love these Sony exclusives that have become inclusive - I'll buy 'em all. Great games, well ported and you get your $$$ worth!

As far as Aloy and her adventures - I loved the first one and I can see this is going to be a gem of a game! Exploration is my jam baby!

Okay wow I love the atmosphere of this game and the mechanics of the suit. I never played any of the Crysis games until last year when I bought the remake bundle. I then proceeded to play and complete part 1 and 2.

Now that I am playing part 3 I am really enjoying it, however I have 2 things that cross my mind.

1. It's a little linear and the levels are nothing special as far as enemies etc, but it's still a fun shooter which really makes you slow down and use the suit and it's mechanics.. It's also really fun to choose which weapon to use in your tactics, and I am loving the bow addition. Also the stats mechanic is better in this game (IMO)

this leads me to my 2nd thought.

2. Holy crapola I would have loved a full length RPG (50 hour) open world game in this setting with the post apocalyptic world and the suit mechanics etc....they could have made a mint off this. And before you go telling me to play metro exodus....I have and I beat it, but it certainly didn't "FEEL" as right as this game.

Since we can't have #2 on my list I'll just say I am enjoying the game for what it is, though I am a little concerned that I read somewhere the campaign is only like 6 hours. If' that's true - then it's a real shame they didn't put more love into making this a bigger adventure, because what they did create is FANTASTIC!

edit: I beat the game at 9.4 hrs so it wasn't as bad as a 6 hour campaign. The last boss took me a few tries, and I did sneak my way through a couple of levels instead of fighting every enemy so overall I'd say it was a reasonable length in line with the first 2 games in the series.

Nope.

I liked the game and the story, however, I kept getting errors saying I have run out of video memory every few minutes . This is apparently a known issue. I said whatever I'll keep playing and tell it to go away when it pops up. This was very annoying, so after 4 hours of game play I decided I would just lower the settings to high (I have an i9-9900k and an 3080 ti - so it's not my pc) ...right after I did that the game crashes everytime I start to play within 30 seconds. It locks my pc up freezes my mouse and I have to CTRL ALT DELETE to shut it down.

Also that being said, I have been a network tech for 25+ years now so I know my way around computers, especially my computer. To have to deal with this in 2024 is unacceptable. I don't want to spend my evening troubleshooting your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game...I just want to play it, but I can't - so it's to the trash bin with you....

Too bad, as I think they did put in an effort on the story front and I was rather enjoying it.

A decent game where you can spend a couple dozen hours unlocking the content for the 3 tiers of fighters. The game-play loop is really rather shallow though and I just can't see myself coming back to this. Of course being a free game, you get something for nothing really, so who can complain?

Definitely worth a play through if you missed these games the first time around! I beat part 1 last year, and I will beat 2 and 3 over the next year. There's something charming about the older games and the way they used to make these action packed shooters...still fun today!

It took a a couple attempts to get into this, but I have to say the writing really is top notch if not a little over the top in some scenarios...it's certainly different enough.

The graphics are okay and it's more of an art style done by an independent studio, I get it, but they could have been a little more modern- not really a big deal.

One thing I really didn't like was engaging in a 30 minute dialogue in my investigation today, and then once I finished that I ran 100 feet and did something at the police car which actually ended my game. All from one mundane off the cuff choice. So the game ended and then I had to go back and redo that whole 30 minute conversation which really did end up different as I now failed some checks in the conversation which I had originally beat (it cost me a couple hundred bucks in the game and would have made a big difference to the story.) So as you can tell I'm not one for wasting my time and having to redo 30 minute segments....

The story is interesting though and the voice overs are excellent.
