Before Amnesia, there was Penumbra. Frictional games first survival horror game while perhaps not as enthralling, established many of the mechanics and themes that made Amnesia what it is. In some ways I actually like the puzzles and such more in Penumbra.
Partly inspired by the dungeons of the classic NES Zelda and Wes Craven's The Children Under The Stairs, Isaac is a randomly generated Biblical themed dungeon crawler wear you play a small naked boy fighting his horribly deformed siblings through your mother's basement. I've played the game countless time's and still haven't discovered everything it has to offer.
The classic Freeware Indie Hit, Revamped with new music and graphics. This should be a requirement for all people who play indie games.
That is rather concerning that we can't even discuss this even in the help section. I guess it makes sense since they can't really comment on another moderators actions, but still if we have to rely on sending in support tickets in order to try and get this sorted out, then there's something inherently wrong with the rules. I don't have much faith in Steam Support, so I figure my best bet is to just keep sending the story out til hopefully I get a response. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
Worse yet, I created a thread in the Help and Tips section trying to bring attention to the matter, and the moderator in that forum told me that "moderator actions are not discussed in the forums" and then locked the thread there, too: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/828934424028111312/.
It's pretty disheartening if this kind of matter can't even be discussed anywhere in the Steam forums. It seems to me that Valve may be o.k. with allowing developers to have this sort of unchecked authority.
I updated my support ticket, which would be the last option for official help from Steam. I'm not too hopeful but maybe something will come of it. Let me know if you hear back from any of those gaming sites.
I'm gonna write a letter to Rock Paper Shotgun and maybe a couple of other Gaming news outlets to see if maybe their interested in this at all. This is now getting to the point where he is preventing any sort of criticism and not allowing people to have even a legtitmate discussion. At this point its a clear abuse of power and I hope maybe I can convince someone that this is worth writing about. An Independent game develepor shouldn't get away with treating his customer base with blatant disregard and avoiding major issues.
