No problem, I'm glad to know my post was useful and didn't go to waste. That guy just needs to learn not to treat his potential customers like shit. Lying to people and refusing to allow criticism is no way to go about trying to gain fans.

I just want to say thanks for your helpful and informative post that got you banned from the minerwars forum, I almost bought the game but thankfully read your post first. :) What a jerk that guy is, I'm glad I didn't give him any money.

That is rather concerning that we can't even discuss this even in the help section. I guess it makes sense since they can't really comment on another moderators actions, but still if we have to rely on sending in support tickets in order to try and get this sorted out, then there's something inherently wrong with the rules. I don't have much faith in Steam Support, so I figure my best bet is to just keep sending the story out til hopefully I get a response. I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Sure enough, he deleted my thread and banned me from the forum. I did manage to make a screenshot of the thread though, before he killed it. Right now it's in the artwork section of the game, here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=133652408.

Worse yet, I created a thread in the Help and Tips section trying to bring attention to the matter, and the moderator in that forum told me that "moderator actions are not discussed in the forums" and then locked the thread there, too: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/828934424028111312/.

It's pretty disheartening if this kind of matter can't even be discussed anywhere in the Steam forums. It seems to me that Valve may be o.k. with allowing developers to have this sort of unchecked authority.

I updated my support ticket, which would be the last option for official help from Steam. I'm not too hopeful but maybe something will come of it. Let me know if you hear back from any of those gaming sites.

I just took a look at the Miner wars Forums and saw the thread you created is gone. Did you delete it or did they? If their now just simply deleting threads altogether as opposed to just locking them, then thats a big issue because he's pretty much deleting evidence of his actions.

I'm gonna write a letter to Rock Paper Shotgun and maybe a couple of other Gaming news outlets to see if maybe their interested in this at all. This is now getting to the point where he is preventing any sort of criticism and not allowing people to have even a legtitmate discussion. At this point its a clear abuse of power and I hope maybe I can convince someone that this is worth writing about. An Independent game develepor shouldn't get away with treating his customer base with blatant disregard and avoiding major issues.
