the frontline system is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥, the frontline moves faster than armies can so if you have a front advance through a state while an army is in it moving to the front they will suddenly be behind enemy lines and will take time to move to the next frontline which your army will never make it to in time causing that army to effectively be useless, guaranteeing a loss.
