"Oh great, yet another old nostalgic offering." That's exactly what I was thinking at first, and being a sucker for nostalgia, I always fall for it and am ultimately dissapointed. I've bought countless remakes that compare themselves to the classics with their special "pixel art" (as if it were a special feature). But well, it happened again, I bought it, and as always, that voice inside my head that was silent before pressing the purchase button laughed at me after installing it. Dammit.

I'd show that voice, that damn voice. I have two hours. I have until two hours and I can refund it and stick it to that voice.

But something happened. Three hours went by like that and I realized I was beyond the refund window, and, amazingly enough, I didn't want to refund it. I was having fun!

Yeah, I'm one of those old farts that played it on some old fart computer system and loved it eons ago, but I never expected to enjoy a remake. The graphics are in the spirit of the original yet have a modern freshness to them that I enjoy and being lazy, I really appreciate the automapping now (instead of using countless sheets of graph paper).

Is it for you? If you've never played it before, most likely not. Those players used to modern CRPs may find the systems and content somewhat simplistic, the UI primative and the lack of hand holding undesirable, but it may appeal to those nostalgic players.

I've been told that I hate everything. I don't hate this. Infact, I quite like it!

Bottom of the 4th, Pujols at the plate. Here comes the 2-1 pitch... and he hits a screamer into the alley in left center!!!! This will go for extra bases! Wait... Albert? Albert?? He's just standing at home plate! ALLLLBERRRTTT!!!!!! And Pujols is thrown out at first."

Yes, this game has bugs. But wait - I'm an uncoordinated old fart - maybe I hit the wrong button on my steam controller. Nope. The little mini-map that shows the base runners showed no base runners. It wasn't my noobness. Considering other bugs, I know it wasn't me.

After the very first game, my starting pitcher won the game! Woot. Then he won it again! Wait huh? After the one and only game, my first starting pitcher had a record of 2-0. That's Cy young material there!

This is one of those games you wish you had a "Meh" button mashed between the "Yes I recommend it" and "No I dont" buttons.

It's a fun little arcady type game. If you are looking for a serious and detailed baseball simulation, look elsewhere. If you want to blow 10 minutes every now and then in a brain dead way, then yeah.... I recommend it despite its faults. The graphics aren't quite Major League quality (more like double A) but its merely adequate. The sound? Well... my recomendation is to play this while watching a real baseball game and crank up the TV's volume.

In the end, Im giving it a thumbs up because I will probably keep playing it for whatever brain dead reason of mine.

A really enjoyable collectable card game - as you have probably guessed, inspired by magic the gathering. Some have said that it's a blend of MTG and Hearthstone, and this is true, but it leans alot more on the MTG side of the table. As with MTG, you can cast "interrupt" type spells on your opponents turn, so this adds a layer of strategy that Hearthstone doesn't have. I also like the "speed" feature that creatures have - again - adding to the layers of strategy. I haven't quite mastered the game yet (only 10 hours into it), but so far its alot of fun

I've played several CCG's and this is near the top of my list. The devs are very generous with the gold and I feel as if I've gotten a ton of cards without spending anything, but am compelled to throw them some money to show support for this really nice game.

Essentially, if you are into CCG's, there's no reason not to try this.

Love this game. If you are a fan of old school turn based grid movement games, get this. Many have a problem with UPlay. If this is not a problem for you - and you love old school turn based games - just get it already.

Fun game. It's sort of PTW... but not really. If you are patient - you dont have to spend a penny.

Many have said that they have been banned unfairly. I cannot comment on this - as I have not had any issues with customer service.

Essentially, if you like ARPGs like Diablo - and are a comic book fan - this is a great game.

I've had an itch for over 15 years that I cannot scratch. An itch to play a decent football game on the PC. When the original Front Page Sports football faded away many years ago, I thought that some other title would carry on the torch. It just didn't happen.

Now we have this entry. We are instructed by other reviewers not to compare this to Madden. Unfortunately however this is exactly what this game tries to be, an "arcady" twitch game. Since this game cannot compete on this level with the aforementioned game, one would expect other areas to be better developed, but sadly this is not the case. If this game had tried to be more of a Front Office football with graphics, it would have fared much better.

There is simply no simulation value to this game whatsoever. There is a "coach" mode, but this is simply the same game only you do not control one of the players. Since this game is all about action, this mode makes no sense. The action itself is not very satisfying. Often, players being blocked will just stand there, not moving. You can find the one or two plays that will always work, regardless of how good or bad the team you are playing is. As an example, after 4 games, my team's rushing defence has given up negative yardage. My opponents simply cannot run the ball against my team. However, once in a while they will get off an 80+ pass play since their receivers can always outrun my defenders (again - regardless of how good or bad the opponent team is). So every team you play feels exactly like the previous team you just played, only with a different coat of paint.

There's also alot of missing elements from actual football. There are no leagues or divisions. All teams are thrown into the same standings with the top 12 teams going to some sort of post season play. There are no quarters in games, only 2 five minute halves and there is no changing this. Stat enthusiasts will be very dissapointed as there are no league leader displays. While in a game, you can see the stats of your individual players, but outside of a game, all you can do is view team totals.

If you want to support one of the only options in PC football, then by all means do so. I wished I hadn't however. We do have a very large hole in the PC Football genre, but this offering does nothing to scratch that football itch. If I enter a fruit cake into the county fair, and my entry is the only entry in the fruit cake division, of course I'll win the medal, but that doesn't mean it's a good fruitcake. Same can be said of this title.
