I hadn't played this game in years because it was extremely buggy and laggy. I decided to try it again today after browsing my game library and seeing the generally positive reviews. Although I didn't encounter the old offset stuck cursor bug, I got the bug where I can't upgrade anything. Also my mouse cursor is not visible in the menu screens. Selected menu options do not roll over when I try going past the topmost or bottom-most menu category. The controls are inconsistent between options. Sometimes I need to use the keyboard cursor / direction keys, sometimes I have to use WASD. The tutorial is not dynamic / sensitive to your keyboard control configuration - e.g., it does not tell you to use the space bar to enter the upgrade menu. The floating health/gold capacity bars can be difficult to separate/identify, including separating the health bars between objects. The game feels awkward. Some objects/creatures look weird from the top down view.
