I could write a book on how many things there are to do in this game.
You can micro manage aspects but in essence the game is a build and fight to gain towns, cities, resources and troops.
I would recommend joining an alliance asap, also to participate in larger attacks.
Plenty of rewards and bonuses to obtain to build an your empire.
There is little atm as regards an instruction manual but other player in your alliance can help.

SUMMARY
Very good free game that can become addictive

This is the way forward for computer games with updates and regular in game competition plus multiplayer to keep you interested.
We do like the single campaign (if a little short) with videos of the history of the time period of the age your playing.
The only drawback could be the specification of your computer, if yours is a little dated you will have problems with updates and game play quality.

Pick your favorite TV show or film (if available) and play on the video pinball table, great fun.

I do like this game, lets start with that. The improvements from the original are significant in the game-play.
The DLC is good, graphics fine and sound etc.
So what is it that makes me write a review.
I have played a lot of strategy games including this one and find UOC 2 difficult.
If you don't follow or get the objectives in time it has serious repercussions later on, lack of army replacement points etc.
One scenario invading Germany towards the end of the war pitched me against a full strength German army and I am stuck, they wiped me out.
In the Barbarossa DLC I have ground to a halt and have gone back to replay some of the game.
This is why I am having second thoughts on purchasing Desert Fox.
In both games feels like I am being pull by the nose and have to do as I am told or I won't finish.

I have never played this game although I have bought it, so can't say yes or no.
The connection to play involves creating an UBISOFT account, don't ask me why.
I used an old account info, e-mail and password etc but still couldn't get though to play.
Will not open another account so I guess will request refund.
Once buying a game was so simple just stick the CD in and off you go, is this really progress

Yes played 1200 hours of this game and I do coming back to it with new ideas for the battles.
In playing the lowest difficulty (colonel) its a reasonable challenge and a good intro to the game.
Try a historical battle before your lunge guns blazing into the campaign.
When looking to increase the difficulty, resources like guns and money become harder to achieve.
The game has depth with information on gun types, generals, history as well as good game-play.

SUMMARY
Enjoyable, decent graphics and sound. In my opinion the best American civil war game around ( so far).

I bought civ 6, the positive review but have gathering storm plus rise and fall, I DON'T WANT THAT.

The game has been properly sorted, thanks
The price was discounted which made this game a recommendation by me but full price I think it lacks depth and replay ability.

A good game for a nice price at the time of this review.
In a nutshell it's an enhanced version of Panzer general 2 both in graphics and detail.
This is a good thing but somethings are added that drive you up the wall.
1) units repeat the same phases every move, "the army happened" etc
2) animation scene voices, no.. no... no, Germans sounding like Americans and out of symc.
3) the maps and the objectives are vast with such small forces, a bit much at times.
4) the map swirls round on attacking units to give a better view, this sends me dizzy.

Summary
a good WW11 game with nice game play but some stupid extra additions takes a serious edge of it.

Early Access Review
I love Mount & Blade 2 but this game has more updates than the BBC news channel.

I have not played this game for a while because of restarting from the beginning with the large updates to make the game play or run as it should.

Perhaps for people reading this review this maybe the time to buy M&B 2 and even I might return to play at some stage having lost my early enthusiasm.

I have been playing this game for quite a while now and I must admit that I am not enjoying it as much as I did, why?.

In breakthrough draft contest that despite spend over 250 gold I just was not good enough, don't think I managed more than 15 wins in total.

The new expansion won't make things better for me and will not be buying and will play less, this is nobodies fault, it's just that even taking lessons on online from the elite, can't win prizes or draft battles, I must be really thick.

The're some very good players wish I was one, good luck 1939.
