A short, low budget 3d platformer that is still enjoyable to play.

Pros:
+short, sweet story that fits the game
+well-portayed characters
+beauiful art
+distinctive levels (varying appearance and puzzles, some new enemies)
+suitable for (and aimed at) kids
+gameplay is simple and straight-forward
+ran super smoothly on my computer

Cons:
-Short (6 levels = 2-3 hours)
-bare-bones gameplay and animations
-hitboxes are somewhat vague, glitched out on me once too

Definitely worth it when on sale, still not too bad otherwise :)

Not for kids, wonderful dark humour and so fricking cute!

Passed in 3.5 hours. Not very long but worth the price twice over imo :)

A Single Player Beat em' Up with Amazing Design!

Update: unlocked most of the achievements, passed the campaign on the 2 higher difficulties and passed the "wave" mode. I still stand by everything in this review :) Some people said they found my review unhelpful, so it might be the case that some people's experiences don't match my own :( Anyway, to the review!

I'm someone who's never really gotten into similar games because of the insanely steep learning curves they tend to have. Freesia does things differently. For example, it has:
+intuitive controls
+an efficient tutorial in the first level
+features and combos that are introduced bit by bit over the first 1/5 of the game
+an amazingly well crafted difficulty curve and levelling system
+animations that deserve some kind of award for being both clear and pretty

The rest of the review is in the "pros/cons list" format because i'm lazy.
Pros (in addition to the above):
+Awesome art
+An actual story that makes sense and is engaging (not extensive or a masterpiece, but it fits the game well)
+Characters that aren't 2 dimensional. I was actually invested in them
+A levelling system with distinctive and rewarding choices that are well balanced
+More than enough variety in enemies, objectives, setting, etc. to keep me engaged throughout the campaign
+New game plus features that i actually want to play/unlock/etc.
+Music that complements gameplay well
+Plenty of content; normal campaign alone took me about 7 hours, and there's heaps to do afterwards (my guess is another 30 hours that i would be happy to play through. Only played 4 hours more so far though)

Cons:
-I can't really think of any? It's worth the asking price 3 times over in my opinion

I'll probably update this once i've played more. Thanks for reading! :)

(Update 2 - some notes: most of my time is play time, some menus. Used an Xbox 360 controller)

An engrossing story with a side of hard sci fi in the tradition of Asimov. Interesting characters, an engaging, somewhat creepy atmosphere and setting and extremely good pacing make this hard to put down. A few unexpected moments of humour also fit surprisingly well. The small number of choices present are well written, though the options are occasionally ambiguous. It also handles philosophical concerns in an unpretentious manner that's not clear-cut, adding to the story rather than coming off preachy. All in all I loved it, though it is a little bit short. P.S. loved the ending, hope they do more in the future :) Seriously thinking about replaying immediately.

EDIT: Just found out that this is only the first of 3-parts (next part in 7-8 months according to developer's Youtube comments) courtesy of DjSF's much more comprehensive review. Also, forgot to mention that the menus are awesome - they help tell the story and engross you in the world.
